• chapter twenty •

"Whats wrong?" He asked, he was in his gym gear. The usual thing for him to wear. 

"Everythings fucked, and I have an essay due at 5pm" Bre said sighing. 

"Okay, come in. You'll have it done in an hour" Finn said opening the door her. 

They got settled on his kitchen table and she started writing, she found it easy to write when she lacked time especially when Finn was shotuing all the facts and statistics she need for it. They were quite the team at getting their college work done in a short time. 

"I have my summary to write and Its done" Bre said stretching, they'd managed to write everything in an hour. 

"Woo, can i ask something?" Finn asked taking a sip from his water. He'd made him and Bre big cups of water to keept hem hydrated and emptied some sour patch kids into a bowl and put it onto the table. 

"Sure can Finny" Bre said taking her glasses off she'd been using to focus. 

"You and Conrad didnt break up because of me right?" He asked, Bre laughed. Not to her knowledge it wasnt. 

"No, honestly now that i think about it I have no idea why we broke up" Bre said before putting her glasses back on and finishing her summary. 

Finn disappered for an hour while she edited her essay and submitted it.  She sat back in her chair before she heard her phone ring. It was Belly. 

"What's up smelly belly?" Bre said with a new burst of energy. 

"You finished you essay yet?" She asked quickly. 

"Yeah just submitted it, why?" Bre asked she was curious. 

"Can you come to the petrol station? The one we stop at every summer?" Belly asked, she could tell belly was smiling through the phone.

"Yeah sure, Ill just find Finn" She said before hanging up. 

"Finn!" Bre shouted, before Finn came running down the stairs.

"Where did you go?" Bre questioned. 

"Remember you packed some of your clothes in ym suitcase? I was getting them out and was finding a hairbrush so you can sort yourself out" Finn said gesturing to the state of Bre. She'd managed to throw her hair into a bun and she looked a mess. 

"Oh thank you thank you" Bre said jumping out of her seat. She ran up to his room to see her shorts and a top laid out on his bed. She quickly jumped in the shower and got changed. 

"You look and smell like a human now" Finn said lauughing, he'd put all of Bre's stuff back in het backpack and handed it to her. 

"Im goign to meet Belly, but swing by the house later?" Bre said hugging Finn before leaving in her car. Finn laughed befiore finally going for his run. 

As Bre pulled up to the gas station she noticed Conrads car and parked next to it. 

"Whats going on?" Bre asked rolling down her window. 

"Dont mind them Bre, lets go" Belly said getting out of Conrads car and pulling her out of her own. 

"What are we do Belly?" Bre asked. 

"Try and get us some alcohol for the goodbyet party" Belly said opening the store door and pushing her in. Bre turned around in the store to see she was now alone. 

"Hi Jumper" Bre smiled going up to the checkout. 

"Bre, I told your sister and the Fishers no" He said rolling his eyes. 

"Can I tell you the truth? And you can decide if you want to help or not?" Bre asked taking a breath. 

"Sure" He said sighing. 

"Its been a really crappy six weeks" Bre said. 

"I heard about their mom. I'm sorry." He answered. 

"Yeah, and I'm sure you heard about the house being for sale" Bre said truthfully. 

"Was?" He questioned. 

"Yeah it actually sold this morning. So tonight is our last night here for like ever" Bre said rubbing her eyes. 

"Whoa that blows" He said crossing his arms. 

"Have you ever had a really shitty day or week and just wanted to hang out with your friends and have a beer?" Bre asked, before she could say anything else Jumper smirked and she knew it had worked. 

She quickly grabbed a slushie for Belly and Jere and a soda for Conrad. And helped piush the trolley of alcohol out with Jumper. 

"You're kidding me" Conrad said opening his door. 

"No freaking way" Jeremiah said in shock. 

"Told you, best big sister ever" Belly said laughing. 

"Lets get this in the car quick, and do not get pulled over on the way home, or I'll say you stole it while i was on the john" Jumper said stressed out. 

"See you later" Bre smiled before handing over the drinks to everyone. 

"How the hell did you manage that?" Jere asked before heading for the car. 

"Honesty is the best policy guys" Bre smirked. 

"You continue to surprise me Conklin" Conrad smiled. 

Bre felt butterflies in her stomach for the first time in a while talking to Conrad. 

"Belly you gonna come with me?" Bre asked getting into her car.

The two girls started laughing as they followed Conrad to the next stop on their adventure.
