⚠️Alert=Il cuore è uno zingaro (The Heart is a Gypsy) is the winning song of the 1971 edition of the Sanremo Festival, in which it was presented in a double performance by Nicola Di Bari and Nada. The song, composed by Franco Migliacci and Claudio Mattone, was released as a single by the two aforementioned artists on 45 rpm vinyls, containing Agnese (Nicola Di Bari) and Insieme mai (Nada) on the B-side, respectively. In the 45 rpm chart, it reached number one for five weeks with Di Bari and for one with Nada.

The lyrics of the song:

I had a wound in the bottom of my heart, I was suffering, I was in pain

I told her, "It's nothing", but I lied, I cried

For you it is late, it is already night

Don't hold me, let me down

She said, "Don't look me in the eye"

And left me, singing like this

What fault have I if the heart is a gypsy and goes

Chains it has not, the heart is a gypsy and goes

Till it finds the greenest meadow that there is

It will gather the stars about it

And it will stop, who knows

And it will stop

I saw her after a year the other night, she was laughing, laughing

She held me close, she knew my heart was beating, beating

She said, "Let's be together tonight"

I wanted to answer her, "Yes"

But without ever looking her in the eyes

I left her, singing like this

What fault have I if the heart is a gypsy and goes

Chains it has not, the heart is a gypsy and goes

Till it finds the greenest meadow that there is

It will gather the stars about it

And it will stop, who knows

And it will stop

My vote:

The grade I would give this song is 10/10. I am loving it madly even though it is not my favourite genre. I have to admit that it is beautiful. Listen to it at least once in your life. It has a beautiful meaning female voice and male voice, it makes no difference the meaning of the song remains the same...and I am loving it madly.

The text you find here above⬆️ is the version translated into English by me, if you want to read the original text you can find it in the previous chapter⬆️.

There are no words to describe the beauty expressed by this song which, in my personal opinion, deserved victory at the Sanremo Festival in 1971. I feel old when I write these things but don't pay too much attention and think that in that year I didn't even exist. Let's move on to the next one, which is better.

That said, let me know below at commenti⬇️ what you thought of this chapter. I can now leave you to read the next chapter.
