⚠️AlertViale d'autunno is a song written by Giovanni D'Anzi, performed by Carla Boni and Flo Sandon's, winner of the 1953 Sanremo Festival. The song was not of much use to Flo Sandon's, already famous for duets with her husband Natalino Otto, but it served for the definitive launch of Carla Boni, Cinico Angelini's singer since 1952. It is said that this song was proposed to Nilla Pizzi, but was taken away from her due to jealousy towards the emerging Carla Boni. The two went down in history as rivals, but this has been repeatedly denied by those involved. The discs containing the song in the two interpretations obtained good sales, although lower than those of other pieces participating in the show, such as Vecchio scarpone and Papà Pacifico.

The lyrics of the song:

Along an autumn yellowed avenue

Sadly you told me: it is over

Finished is the truest love, the purest love

The most splendid love

But a tear wets your face

That tear says to my heart

I can't leave you no more, never more

Never again, because you are in my destiny

We will never leave each other, you know it

If you want to, you can never again!

A whole life of tenderness cannot vanish

The long kisses and caresses

The sweet intoxication cannot lie

Let the heart that lives in anxiety speak

That trembles with fear, and wants this love...

Or die of it!

I can leave you no more, never more

Joy and pain are you!

In this sunless avenue

Official video:

The video depicts an image, taken, I think, from a film clip of the Sanremo stage. But correct me if I am wrong. This does not detract from the beauty of this song.

My vote:

The rating I would give this song is 10/10. It speaks, of love and it is a beautiful song that deserves to be heard at least once in a lifetime.
