⚠️Alert=Al di là is a song written and arranged by Mogol and Carlo Donida, presented at the 1961 Sanremo Festival in the paired interpretation of Betty Curtis and Luciano Tajoli. Initially the song had been assigned to Tony Dallara who preferred instead to present himself at the festival with a song written by the representative of the Genoese musical school Gino Paoli. The song was the ninth to be performed on the first evening, first in Curtis' version, qualifying as one of the 12 finalists. Finally, it won with the formula known as Votofestival, the voting system linked to Enalotto tickets. It was the first and only Festival won by the two artists, and the first of a total of four in which the author Mogol excelled. Thanks to the victory, the song was admitted to the Eurovision Song Contest 1961, where it was proposed by Curtis and came in 5th place, tied with the song representing Denmark. The song was released as a 45 rpm both by Betty Curtis, together with Vicino a te, and by Tajoli, on a record with Notturno senza luna, another song presented in that edition of Sanremo by Aura D'Angelo and Silvia Guidi, as the B-side. Milva also recorded the song as a single, together with Lady Luna, another Sanremo song, as well as Un uomo vivo, a song performed at the event by Tony Dallara and included on the A-side of the record also containing his version of Al di là, published by the Music label.Emilio Pericoli proposed his own interpretation, which was successful in the United States. Claudio Villa's version could not be missing, again in 1961 and was included in the album Villa in Tokyo. Sandra Reemer recorded the song for the Dutch market in 1961 and included it in the album Net als Wij. We also find a version of the song on the double album 'The very best of Sandler & Young'. In 1986, André Hazes included a cover of the song on his album Innamorato released in the Netherlands and Russia (EMI, CDP 74 6303 2). In 1997, Patrick Dimon included a cover of the song in the album Special italiano for the Brazilian market (Polydisc, 482.323).

The grade I would give this song is 10/10. There are no words to say how beautiful this song is in my personal opinion...if you don't believe me listen to it at least once, I've been crying for a few minutes because of the emotional impact this song has on me. If it hadn't been noticed I'm already an overly sensitive person. Beautiful song, kudos to Betty. C. for singing it.
