Chapter 24

Y/n's pov

The next day, you enter the dining hall as the medical staff administers free tests for M3 virus, looking at the patient notes as Nurse Choi hands them to you. Captain Yoo comes to stand next to you as he peeks over at the notes as you check the next prescriptions.

'How much anti-inflammation medicine do we have left?' You ask Nurse Choi, but before she can respond, the door bursts open, Argus and his gang entering through the entrance. You feel everyone fall silent, Argus gesturing at Fatima behind you. Glancing back, you see her hold onto your arm, hiding behind you as Captain Yoo next to you tenses watching the gang come to sit on the chairs for the patients being tested.

'Are they here for testing?' Nurse Choi asks as you stare at Argus grinning back at you, tilting his head towards Fatima.

'Don't worry. I tested negative. The US army tested me themselves.' He says, leaning onto the seat. 'I'm just to find my friend. He's got something of mine.' He says again, gesturing at the dining hall.

'He came to get the diamonds.' You say in Korean to Captain Yoo, his eyes focused on Argus as he walks over to him.

'You know, Mr. Jin? He's my friend. He's got some of the sparkly things for me.' He says to Captain Yoo as he pulls out his gun, pointing at Argus' head.

'This is not lost and found.' Captain Yoo replies, glaring at Argus as you feel Fatima peek out from behind you.

'I'm just here to see my friend. I heard he's sick.' Argus says, reaching into his blazer despite the other soldiers raising their guns at him. He slowly takes out two vials of medicine, placing on the table next to him.

'It's for you. Give it to my friend.' Argus turns to you watching him feeling like someone has set your gut on fire, his smile making you wonder if he was smiling at his pay after killing your mother and Mr. Lee.

'Now if you're done here, get lost. And never come back.' Captain Yoo says, the gangs getting off the chairs to leave. You feel your eyes burn watching Argus jokingly take a step towards a soldier, the others still holding their guns up at his head. Captain Yoo returns to your side, handing you the vials of medicine.

'Are you going to give this to Mr. Jin?' He asks, watching you glare at the medicine in your hands.

'I would love to give him a painful death. But it's our principle that we prioritise fatal patients.' You say, feeling your voice shake as you squeeze the medicine. Captain Yoo nods grimly, and you give Nurse Choi the medicine telling her to inject Mr. Jin and some of the other patients in an ice bath from heavy fever.
