Everything was numb and cold. The weight of the sky crashed down upon her shoulders once more as tears, hot and fast, dripped down her face. Annabeth clutched her blanket closer to her, trying to stop the loud, ugly sobs from escaping her.

How could he be gone? The love of her life, stolen from her, after everything they had been together.'

She stood, sniffling, and switched on the light. She staggered over to her desk and collapsed, wiping at her eyes in a desperate attempt to stop the tears.

She raised her head to her laptop. The flickering blue light of the screen saver stung her sore, red eyes. Annabeth reached for the screen, her fingers gently flitting over the collage.

Unable to stop it now, the hiccups came and so did the tremors, passing through her body, causing her to shake uncontrollably.
