I let out a contented sigh, a smile spreading across my face as I glanced at him through the glass of the recording studio.

His eyes were filled with approval and he beckoned me to leave the room. I eagerly took off the headphones and placed them on the mic before sliding the door open. As I stepped out, he rotated on his chair to face me.

"Wow, you were really impressive" he said, a smile still on his face.

I couldn't help but feel a surge of confidence at his words. "Thank you." I replied, trying to play it cool. "It wasn't my best, but I think it was alright, right?"

He chuckled. "No, yeah. That was an impressive freestyle, especially considering it's your first time in the studio, right?"

I nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of my mouth.

"Yeah, but I've freestyled before. I actually started getting into rapping when I was in the-" I said, then quickly cut myself off, realizing what I was about to say.

"I mean, it's always been a passion of mine."

He nodded, a reassuring smile on his face. "Well, I've got a lot of beats you can choose from. We can start working on your first rap song. Are you down for that?"

I couldn't believe it. The thought of releasing my own rap music was both thrilling and intimidating. "My first rap song? That's crazy. I don't know about that yet, but I'm willing to see what I can come up with."

He let out a chuckle, standing up from his chair. "Well, let's get started then. Do you want to freestyle again or do you want to write your own bars? Or maybe have someone else write for you?"

I paused, considering my options. "I think I'll write my own bars." I finally said, a determined glint in my eye.

He nodded, a proud smile on his face. "Great, let's get you on the couch and start brainstorming."

As I made my way to the couch, the door slowly creaked open, revealing a short brown-skinned girl with long box braids. She wore a tight, white romper and grinned as she entered the room, closing the door behind her.

"Who's this?" she asked, looking at me with confusion.

My brow furrowed in confusion as well, until the producer spoke up. "Oh, she's new. We just signed her up for rapping. She's really talented, so we're going to see how it goes."

The girl's confusion turned into a smile as she extended her hand. "I'm Lil Tee, nice to meet you."

I shook her hand, a smile spreading across my face. "I'm Brianna."

She raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "You haven't thought of a stage name yet?"

I tightened my lips and squinted my eyes in thought before answering, "Actually, I have. What do you think about Big Bri?"

She burst out laughing and clapped her hands in approval. "Big Bri, not the little one! I like it!" she exclaimed, still laughing.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Dannel." the producer finally introduced himself, looking at me with a warm smile.

"Hey, Dannel." I greeted him, tilting my head and giving him a warm smile back.

"So, what are we going to do now?" I asked, turning to face both of them.

"I'm going to put on some beats for you to see what you can work with." Dannel explained, gesturing towards a nearby chair. "And Lil Tee, you can go in the other room and start."

I stood up and walked towards Dannel, sitting down on the chair and putting on the headphones he handed me.

As he started playing a variety of beats, I couldn't help but bop my head along to the music, trying to feel which one I liked the most.
