I couldn't help but wonder where Connor was; he's usually back from training at this time. Just as I was about to sit on the couch, the doorbell rang. I went to open it, and there stood Connor.

"Don't kill me." He rubbed the back of his neck as I opened the door wider to let him in. "What did you do?" I crossed my arms after shutting the door. Connor pulled down his sock, revealing a clear wrap on his ankle. As I bent down to take a look, I saw a tattoo—a heart with my initials inside.

"Connor!" I gasped, throwing my hands over my mouth. "You're kidding, right? This is a joke?" I stood up straight, looking at him incredulously. "Nope," he smirked. "It's cute and all, but why?" I asked. "Because it'll remind me of you, and because you're mine," Connor grinned.

I burst into laughter, and Connor looked at me, raising his eyebrows in confusion. "I guess I should come clean too," I said, moving my hair to the side to reveal the exact same tattoo as Connor's, but with his initials.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Connor exclaimed, moving my hair to get a better look. "It was at a party, I was drunk. Plus, I didn't know how you would take it," I explained, turning around to face him.

"I think it looks great, but I wish you told me sooner," he said with a mix of surprise and appreciation in his eyes. We both shared a laugh, realizing that our unplanned matching tattoos held a deeper meaning than we initially thought. As we sat down on the couch, the room filled with an easy warmth, and it was in that moment that I knew our connection went beyond the ink on our skin.
