Chapter 7 - Night

Tonight there was a full moon high in the night sky, the stars shined bright and it was silent as I made my way to where the designated place of meeting and where Klaus was waiting for me.

"Bella, don't go!" I thought I heard my brother say, which was impossiable because he was dead. Whipping around I hoped to see someone, but there was no one out there. Freaked out by the strange occurence, I picked up my skirts and ran, my long hair swaying behind me.

The green grass was wet with dew, my feet were getting wet and the bottom of my gown was soaked. Tonight I decided to wear my favorite gown from Damon and the locket from both brothers. The locket contained portrait of Stefan and Damon from a time of happier memories from our lives and it was something I couldn't bear to leave behind. Plus I had the ring from Klaus.

"Stay…Danger…Don't….him…trust." I kept hearing the same voice say as I ran.

"Klaus!" I whisper-yelled when I got to the stables, knowing he could hear me. I was really starting to freak out and the feeling of being watched just added to my frightened state. I kept hearing the word trust, him, don't, vampire, bloodsucker being repeated over and over.

"Yes my dear?" Klaus suddenly asked, appearing out of nowhere.

"Can you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"The voices!" I stated. It wasn't until I said it that I realized how crazy that sounded. He just grinned at me and pointed fangs appeared where his canine teeth should have been. Before I knew what happened, his hand shot out and wrapped around my neck. I heard a faint cracking sound before I blacked out, the last thing I remember hearing was Bello whining and become restless in her stall.

Sometime later I woke up in a dark room, but I could see everything perfectly once my eyes adjusted. From what I could see there were no windows and one door. With the only thing in this room was the bed I was laying on, I couldn't help but feel lonely.

The longer I was awake, the more intesne the burning sensation in my throat became. I opened my mouth to scream and I felt my teeth growing. To my horror, I had fangs, they were sharp and pointy like a needle and I pricked my finger. As soon as it happened, blood beaded at my finger from the wound but the skin slowly knitted itself back together. The ability to heal and fangs were the clues I needed to realize I was no longer human.

Trying to remember what happened, I slowly remembered things. The voices, the stars, the voices, getting to the stables, the feeling that I was being watched and meeting up with Klaus at midnight. I remembered his fangs and the small amount of pain before I blacked out. Did he change me into what he was? Am I a vampire? The fangs were all I needed for comfirmation.

I heard footsteps headed in my direction, wherever I was and soon the door opened. There Klaus stood, watching me. He was dressed all in black, and seemed to have a cape on too. His skin seemed paler than before and his pale hair stood out in the dark.

"Good, your awake. Come you must hunt before sunrise." Okay then? I followed him down a flight of stairs, turned a few corners and went outside. The moon was high in the sky, but not full like it was the other night when I ran away.

"How long was I out?" I finally asked.

"Maybe 2 or 3 days." Klaus shrugged nonchalantly, but then turned around and in a flash he was kissing me. "I missed you." Stunned, I couldn't speak so I just nodded. "Now, let's get you something to drink."

By the looks of it, we were now in a small town similar to the one near my old home, there were buildings here and there made of bricks and the windows were dark. There was barely any sign of human life at this time of night except for the heart beats that were music to my ears. The pain in my throat intensified as I listened.

"Am I like you now?" he nodded when I asked him just as man stumbled out from an ally, he smelled heavily of alcohol which was a huge turn off, but my throat burned so I attacked him without a second thought.

The blood was warm and rich, so full of life and I could feel strength returning to me.

I instantly wanted more.

When I was done, I threw the body back in the ally and turned around to see Klaus smiling at me.

"What?"

"Nothing." With that said, he grabbed my hand and we took off running. Klaus led the way and I followed, not caring where we were headed to and all I knew was that we just needed to get out and that my life would never be the same again.
