Chapter 6 - Wonderful

Without my brothers here, life just wasn't the same. After Damon and Stefan died, I barely ate nor smiled, I became a corpse that just went through the motions of being alive. There was no reason for me to live, other than the fear of dying.

Father wanted to marry me off to some rich man now. He seemed to be in a rush to find a man, I think it is becausehe wanted to get me married to someone before I was commited suicide from depression or some freak accident happened that killed me or something along those lines.

Especially after watching his two sons murder each other, I think Father believed anything was capable of happening to me, his only daughter.

After the funeral something very strange happened, one of the servants came running in yelling that they saw Stefan and when we went to check it out there was no one. The only thing different was that there was a huge hole where we baried my family, the caskets were still in the ground but opened and there were no bodies. It was empty and they were gone.

Being the emotional one in the family, I couldn't help but let out a scream as tears flowed out of my eyes. I had lost them once and now I had lost my brothers twice. Their essence was gone from my life and any proof that they had existed was gone because father had gotten rid of their possesions, refusing to keep any reminder of his sons because Father was ashamed of their actions.

A week after the incident with the casket, one a hot sunny afternoon one of the servants came to me. "Miss Isabella, your Father requests your presence in his study," she said. Father and I barely spoke now but that was nothing new, so I couldn't help but wonder what this could be about.

I nodded in acknowlagement and started walking from garden towards the study. Once I was in the hallway that lead to the study, I heard voices.

"Just wait until you see her," I heard my father say.

"I'm sure she's just as beautiful as you say," An unfamiliar voice responded to my father.

I froze outside the door. So this is what he wants to see me about. Well, thank god that I'm wearing a good gown, one of my favorites actually and I wouldn't want Father to be mad at me for not making a good impression. The gown was a dark shade of blue that matched the night sky at sunset and it was amazing, but the reason why I loved it s much was because Damon had gotten it for me.

Taking a deep breath, I opened the door to the study with a fake smile on my face, "You wanted me, Father?"

"Ah, yes," my father said then walked over to me. "Isabella this is Klaus." I looked to the other man. He had white blond hair, beautiful blue eyes and looked to be in his twenties.

"It's nice to finally meet you Isabella," Klaus said. "I've heard many great things about you." He smiled at me and kissed my hand. Immediately my cheeks grew hot.

"Nice to meet you too." Father was smiling at me and I had the feeling he knew something. It took everything not to snap at him like Damon would,  I'm sure I twitched while holding in my snarky comments. Oh how I really missed my brother.

"Bella, we have something to tell you," Father said. Please don't tell me this guy had a thing for men. There were a few men like that in the village and Father doesn't like talking about them or the idea of it.

"Yes?"

"Klaus has asked for your hand in marriage. And I accepted." Oh no he didn't. He sold me to this man, because I'm sure that this man was the highest bidder.

"Wonderful," I had to keep myself from mocking him and fought to keep a smile on my face.
