Meerab entered the room and closed the door. That scene was floating in front of her eyes again and again. She was trembling with fear and her throat was dry.

Pouring water from the jug, she drank a glass of water and finished it in one breath. Her hands were trembling. She couldn't keep balance. The glass fell from her hand and broke, and a rattling sound spread on the floor.

She got scared again and her body trembled. Pressing her face, she cried. Her thumb was burning in pain. She suddenly looked at her feet. The knuckle of her thumb has gone up and the corners of her that thumb have been cut a bit. Thick dark blood was gurgling out. From the front of the door, there were blood stains on the floor as she walked.

Her head began to spin. Falling into the guest house, she had this condition of her feet. But she didn't notice the matter. Sitting on the floor, she pressed her finger.

Murtasim opened the door and entered the room. Seeing his blood-stained face, Meerab's heart beat faster. It was as if her heart would jump out. She stood up.

Murtasim was looking at her with a fierce look. Meerab thought her life was in jeopardy. A while ago, this man was hitting a man in a cruel way and Meerab saw it. Murtasim knew that too. Meerab was thinking, how can she save herself from him now?

Murtasim hurriedly grabbed her right arm and pressed it against the wall and said,
"You were there, weren't you? Why did you go?"

Meerab's body was trembling. She moved her lips but couldn't say anything. Everything was stuck in her throat. She was suffering from lack of oxygen and couldn't breathe. She couldn't keep her body in balance. Her eyes were closing. With blurred eyes, she once looked at Murtasim and leaned on his chest. Holding her arms, Murtasim annoyedly said,
"Disgusting!"

He picked her up on his arm and laid her on the bed and looked at her feet. Her thumb was covered in blood.

When Meerab regained consciousness, she blinked. A female doctor was watching her. When she saw Meerab regaining consciousness, she smiled and said,
"You're fine. Don't be afraid."

Saying the doctor went out. After a while Murtasim entered the room. The look on his face was the same. Meerab thought that now he will press her again and will ask questions.

She thought, if she regained consciousness after a while! Or two days later. Then she would be safe from him for some time.

Lying down, she looked at him in fear. Grabbing her hand, Murtasim pulled her out of bed and shouted,
"What did you see?"

Meerab stammered in a trembling voice,
"I didn't see anything."

Murtasim listened to her and said with a crooked smile,
"Right! You didn't see anything. Okay?"

Meerab shook her head and said yes. Murtasim asked her in a cool voice,
"Why did you go?"

"Morning walk."

Murtasim pressed her cheek and shouted,
"Morning walk! Don't lie. Then I'll pull your tongue out. Why did you go there?"

"I'm telling the truth. I went to the Morning walk."

"Aha! You were following me. Why were you following me?"

Meerab cried and said,
"It's true. I went to morning walk and went to see the guest house in the garden. Then suddenly the sound came from inside so I went inside out of curiosity. Why should I follow you? I'm telling the truth."

Murtasim left her cheek and said,
"Excessive curiosity is not good. Excessive curiosity can lead to death. So be careful! You are my wife. Stay at home like a wife. Don't show curiosity here and there."
