"No." Pond answered without a thought. Phuwin and Joong can't begin to comprehend what Bright and Win were asking exactly.
"Why should he work for you and not Phuwin?" working for Bright and Win would mean that Dunk will be on his own. That didn't sit well with Pond.
"Dunk has a knack for searching for sensitive information. It's a valuable asset for our team" it's one thing to tell Dunk what they do, it's another if they told the trio, especially Pond who is well versed with what the secret service does. They can't afford to expose themselves.
"That's exactly the point, you mentioned sensitive information." Joong latching onto the keyword.
"How can you ensure Dunk's safety?" Phuwin added as he supported Pond.
"He's working behind the desk. There isn't anything dangerous that we're exposing him to" Bright trying to channel Win's charm with little success.
"A change of environment will be good for Dunk. As Bright said, he's just working behind the desk, in what he does best. We can show you the office if it makes you feel better. But I think Dunk should also have a say in this." Win's charm undeniable. Everyone looks towards Dunk.
"I want to try..." Pond's heart clenched at that. It's the first time Dunk had expressed interest in something. He truly doesn't want to deny him.
"Let's look at place." Phuwin said as he patted Pond's knee.
It looked like an over glorified computer lab to the trio. They know instantly that Dunk would love it. Joong squeezed Pond's shoulder signaling that there's no point arguing at this point.
For the first time in months, Dunk looks happy.
