a few uneventful days later, jungkook found himself behind the counter of seokjin's cafe like usual, donning a crisp white apron as he prepared to face the hustle and bustle of the early monday morning rush.

the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans permeated the air as he focused on the rhythmic tasks at hand, a sense of purpose evident in his every moment.

as much as he tried to distract himself from thinking about it; he was still a little embarrassed about his little breakdown due to the storm the other night.

and as a result, he couldn't help but avoid taehyung since that night- too embarrassed to face him after his childish actions.

the man must think he's such a crybaby, oh god-

"hey, you're here early." jin spoke, smiling warmly as he placed a tray of fresh cookies on the counter, ready for the display case. "that rain was terrible last night, are you good? i know you don't like storms."

"i'm just thinking, hyung." jungkook breathed, offering the older man a small smile. "it's facinating, isn't it? taehyung has this way of just... making his work come alive."

"ah, you've been spending time with him, haven't you?" seokjin leaned against the counter, intrigued with a small smile. "how's it going?"

"it's nice." jungkook confessed, a soft blush forming over his cheeks, and his eyes reflecting a mix of uncertainty. "he's so quiet and composed... he's so unique and i'm just, well, not. i feel like a fool beside him, hyung.."

"taehyung has that effect on people." seokjin mused, shaking his head as he began to open the display case, preparing the display before they opened for the day. "he's a brilliant artist and a good friend. give it time, jungkook-ah. you might be surprised how these things develop."

time went over very fast when you're busy.

as the morning rush rolled over, jungkook found himself lost in the steady rhythm of the cafe, but his thoughts often drifted astray; lingering back to his first studio session with taehyung the day before.

he had slept in one of the artist's spare rooms as it was nearing on midnight when taehyung finished the outline for the artwork, and he couldn't help but be ashamed as he remembered his mini-meltdown over the thunderstorm.
