The cold wind of the night felt sharp against my skin and the drops of rain fell over me the second I pulled the car window down.

I wanted a really long night drive, so Damien chose a nearby city for the flight. The moment we left New York behind and drove on the highway- which surprisingly wasn't full, the rain started pouring.

God, I love the scent of the rain and the heavenly fragrance of wet soil. The roads were all glistening as the water flowed everywhere. It's a remote area, judging by the way there's no house in sight.

"Do you love rain?" Damien asked from my left, half focused on the drive and half focused on me.

"Oh, I'm in love with rain. It fills my heart and soul full of joy. It gives me a sense of calm even when it's raining cats and dogs outside. The pitter patter of the rain on the window sill is my favourite form of music. It's just so comforting." I gushed as I felt the rain pouring in my palms.

After the book signing. Damien and I had a good time enjoying our day in New York. He showed me his favourite restaurants, after that we went shopping together. He showed me his mansion in New York. Did I mention we went shopping again? Ah, yes. Lots of shopping. Mostly I was the one buying around my favourite things and he watched me with his lethal gaze the whole time. Paying for me like he is my sugar daddy.

From his favourite roadside restaurants for breakfast to VVVIP restaurants for dinner, it was one of the best days of my life.

"When I was a little girl, I always wished to have my first kiss in the rain." I shrugged my shoulders, remembering my old self. Got my first kiss but never in the rain.

"Do you still have the wish?" He asked.

I turned my head at him. Fuck, why does he always look so handsome? His face itself is a massive turn on.

He pulled over the car to the side of the highway. Some of the street lights were broken so half of this area was dark. The heavy thuds of rain dropping against the windows were the only sounds in the car.

Damien relaxed his muscles and stared at me as if studying something. Oh no. That something didn't appear good. I roll my eyes and looked outside the window to avoid his gaze.

"You're going to look in my eyes while I'm talking. and if you roll your eyes at me again, then the consequences won't be so gentle." His deep sinful eyes caught me off guard.

What the fuck? What does he think he is? If arrogance was a person, it'd be Damien Erik.

"Get out of the car and stand in front of it. I wish to watch you in the rain before we kiss." He demanded. My eyes fixed on him as if I heard him wrong but he warned me with his eyes that I should follow what he said.

I'm not bound to follow his commands but I'd be lying if I say it doesn't make me wet.

I nervously remove my black trench coat in the car and step outside. The rain immediately drenching me completely wet. I walked in front of the car and turned back to face Damien. Car's headlights flashed on my face but my husband had turned on the inside lights and I could see his face.

Staring at me like I'm his first feast after spending years starving in the woods.

I crossed my hands over my chest and rubbed my hands on my arms, the air was cold. Damien turned off the inside lights and soon he opened the car door and walked towards me with a malicious predatory grace.

He stood tall in front of me, the car to our left flashing lights on our faces. The rain only made his sexy muscles stand out under the wet clothes.

Somewhere in these two days-probably when he told me about his past-my hate for him subsided. I think it wasn't even hate to start with. "Hate" was my defence mechanism for the hurt and heartbreak I was feeling. It's gone now, but I don't know when I will be able to go back to how I was feeling before I heard all that in Kauai.
