Chapter Twenty Two

**3 Weeks Later**
"Ah look who came back down from the mountain of darkness!!" Hermann exclaimed as Kelly and Sylvie walked into the firehouse, everyone clapping. "Haha real funny Hermann" Kelly said giving him a hug, everyone else fist bumps. "Kelly....." Chief Boden said as he walked out to the common room, Kelly giving all his attention to him. "Follow me please" Chief told him, Sylvie letting go of Kelly's hand and watched him leave. "What's up Chief?" Kelly asked as he sat in a chair, Chief sitting down behind his desk. "How're you feeling?" Chief asked concerned, Matt knocking on the door. Chief nodded him in and Matt greeted Kelly, asking the same question Chief had asked him moments ago. "I'm good as new!" Kelly said patting his side, Chief nodding. "Are you sure you'll be able to perform your normal duties without any abstractions?" Chief asked, Kelly nodding. "I'm a hundred percent Chief. Here's my form of consent" Kelly said handing Chief a piece of paper just as the alarm went off.
"TRUCK 81, SQUAD 3, AMBO 61 BATTALION CHIEF 25 STRUCTURE FIRE. 173 CRESCENT RD" the dispatcher announced, everyone running to their trucks. On the walk to the trucks, Matt tapped Kelly on his side. "Are you sure you're okay?" he asked, Kelly rolling his eyes. Sylvie must've heard them talking and she said, "He's fine" Kelly pointed to her as she hopped in the Ambo. "She does not lie" he said, Matt laughing before they jumped into their trucks, speeding away to the scene. "So Lieutenant...." Hermann started, Matt banging his head on his seat, everyone laughing. "What is it THIS time Hermann?" Casey asked, Hermanns eyebrows raising. "You're hiding something!!!" Hermann suddenly exclaimed, Casey turning around quickly. "No I'm not" he quickly responded, Hermann nodding his head. "Oh yes you are, don't give me that. I know a secret when I see one" Hermann said pointing to Matt, who's cheeks suddenly flashed red. "Let's just focus on the fire... Anybody who brings up this again gets assigned a weeks worth of chores, including bathroom duty" "Ah cmon Lieutenant don't you think that's kind of harsh? The bathrooms are like a war zone because of Squad" Cruz said making Casey laugh. "So...." Casey replied turning around and looking through the side mirrors, seeing Ambo driving behind them.
"So... How're things going with you and Kelly?" Gabby asked, Sylvie shrugging. Sylvie had told Gabby that they were starting to plan the wedding, and she wanted to know more details. "We have the time and date set, we also have the location reserved..." "Oooo wheres it being held?" Gabby asked cutting Sylvie off. "Navy Pier" Gabby's mouth dropped open when she heard the news, making Sylvie laugh. "What's so funny?!" "Sylvie, why in the world would you want your wedding to be at Navy Pier?" "It's not really Navy Pier, but it's on an island right next to it" Sylvie replied as they pulled up to the fire, Gabby eyes going wide. "Oh my gosh....."
When Casey jumped out of the truck, his blood started to boil. Standing in a crowd of people was Gordon, his hands in his pockets. Casey immediately started walking over to him, breaking out into a run. Gordon just stood there and when Casey reached him, he dropped his axe and pushed him to the ground, pinning him underneath him. "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Casey yelled, Chief and Severide running over and pulling Casey off of him, Gordon standing up and brushing himself off. "Nice to see you too" Gordon said smirking, Casey gritting his teeth. "Who let you out..." Casey said lowly with anger in his voice, Gordon shrugging. "Can't say... He's a really.. Really nice person though" Gordon said as Dawson and Brett walked over, Dawson trying her best to keep her cool. "What're you really doing here Gordon?" Dawson asked with anger in her voice, Gordon shrugging. "I just wanted to come out, and see some action" he said eyeing Sylvie who suddenly felt uncomfortable. Kelly saw this and grabbed Gordon's hands, taking a piece of rope and tying a handcuff knot, Gordon letting him. "This won't do you no use... I'll just keep coming back" Gordon said as Kelly kicked his leg making him tumble to the ground. "Stay there..." Kelly spat, Gordon looking at him. "You belong there, and so much down farther" Kelly said before running off, Sylvie taking one last glance at Gordon before walking away, feeling Gordon's eyes peeling at the back of her back, giving her goosebumps. She then remembered Gabby, thinking about how she was feeling. "Hey are you okay?" Sylvie asked, noticing Gabby's face seemed pale. "How'd that animal get out?!" Gabby questioned, Sylvie shrugging. Before she could answer Gabby said, "I'll be right back. I'm gonna call Antonio"
"Hey sis how's it..." "Antonio are you back in Intelligence?" Gabby asked cutting him off. "Yeah, why? What's wrong?" Gabby looked over to Gordon who was sitting on the curb, all his attention focused on her. "Gordon's out" she replied, Antonio rubbing his jaw line. "Oh my gosh" he then said, walking out of the Intelligence room and down the stairs, out the building. "What?" Gabby asked. "Voight" Antonio said, Gabby shaking her head. "Why would he let him out?!" "For money.... You know Voight, always playing dirty" Antonio replied, Gabby shaking her head. "You might want to come right away, because if you don't, Matt will slit his throat" "Gabby I have no reason to pick him up" "Yes you do. He's a felony and we have him on hold for arson. If you don't come now I swear I'll throw him back into the building and let him burn alive" Gabby said, anger surging through her veins. "Gabby, you know you can't do that..." "Watch me" Gabby said hanging up the phone, walking over to the Ambo and sitting down on the ledge, Sylvie waiting with a gurney. "Chief, we got at least 10 other victims in here. We're trapped up on the 4th floor" Severide said through the radio, Chief looking at Cruz. "RAISE THAT AERIAL....NOW!" Chief yelled, Cruz raising it up, all of them seeing a window break. "ITS CASEY!!!" Chief exclaimed as they watched Matt wave his arms back and forth, Cruz aligning the aerial with the window so they could climb down. Casey was first out the window, and 4 people climbed down above him, Casey directing them where to step. "CHIEF THIS BUILDINGS GONNA FLASH. WE'RE LOSING STABILITY!!!" Severide yelled, warm tears forming in the corner of Sylvie's eyes. "Cmon Kelly Cmon" Sylvie said to herself as she watched more people climb out the window onto the aerial, Kelly halfway out of the window when Chief suddenly yelled, "ITS GONNA BLOW!!!" "EVERYONE DUCK NOW!!!" Casey screamed, the people doing as they were told as Kelly jumped out, landing on the aerial just in time as flames erupted out the window, Sylvie's heart beating fast. "Man...." she said as she faced Gabby who had her eyes on Gordon, who sat there with disapproval on his face. Sylvie saw this and marched over, Gabby close behind her. "WHY WOULD YOU IGNITE A BUILDING ON FIRE YOU IDIOT?!" Sylvie screamed, Gordon laughing. "I did it to get a rise out of everyone" Gordon replied, Gabby spitting at him. "Your saliva doesn't bother me darling. It makes me stronger" Gordon said running his tongue over his lips, Sylvie slapping him. "Nice hit" Gordon said, Sylvie screaming out of being annoyed. "What baby? Do I get to yah?" Gordon asked making kissy faces, Sylvie about to respond when Antonio pulled up, his partner Al getting out also. "Well well well. Looks like the fish have come to get the bait... Take me away officers" Gordon said motioning to his tied up hands, Antonio pulling him up and putting his head on the cop car. "You have the right to remain silenced" Antonio said through gritted teeth. "I want to speak to my lawyer" Gordon said, Antonio pushing him into the car. "Once I'm through with you, you won't even have the chance to talk to your lawyer" Antonio said, Gordon sighing. "I'll have your badge for this, and your precious firehouse too!" Gordon said looking at Gabby, Antonio laughing. "Not if I can help it" he said slamming the door in Gordon's face, Matt and Kelly walking over. "KELLY!!!" Sylvie exclaimed as she hugged him, clutching onto him. "Are you okay?! You had me worried sick" Sylvie said, Kelly smiling. "I'm okay, trust me" he said walking away, loading some victims onto the squad truck to transport them to the hospital. Gabby hugged her brother before turning to Matt and kissing him, Matt pulling back. "Sorry, sorry not here..." he said looking around, a news person pulling up, Gabby nodding. "Are you okay?" she whispered, Matt putting a hand on her shoulder and he nodded. "I'm better than okay, thanks to you" Matt said looking at Antonio fist bumping him. "Hey no problem. We'll deal with this animal in the interrogation room" Antonio said walking to the drivers side, opening the door. "Antonio..." Gabby said, Antonio looking at her. "What is it sis?" "Don't do anything stupid" she told him, both Antonio and Al laughing. "I'll try not to" he told her as they drove away, Gabby and Matt walking back to their trucks and going to Chicago Med, dropping off the victims.
