As we pulled up to the gate I couldn't help but feel slightly relieved by the size of the steel walls. They looked old but stable, as if they were taken off of a freshly made building. Rick opened his door's window only a smidge but you could still hear the noises of people inside, making the man let out a strange sigh almost in relief.

Michonne quickly placed a hand on the man's, "Hey, you ready?" She smiled.

Rick nodded, "Yeah. Yeah," he removed his seatbelt giving us the go ahead to get out of the car.

As I stepped out Michonne quickly threw her arm around me as we focused on the walls, "Are you ready?" She asked me.

I just shrugged, "I guess it's too late to say no," she chuckled.

As the gates started to open I couldn't help but feel the strange sensation of being watched and quickly turned back at the only building outside of the gates that so happened to be burned partially down.

I swore I saw an outline of a boy before blinking and they were gone. Blaming it on exhaustion I continued to walk with my family until a loud bang went off to my left. The entire group pointed their weapons at the fallen trash can where a now dead possum laid sideways with an arrow through its stomach.

Once the gate was fully opened a very clean looking man looked at the lot of us, gap toothed as Daryl raised the dead carcass up, "We brought dinner," he plainly said.

The man looked absolutely disgusted by the state of all of us. You'd think social class was a thing of the past, but as this man looked at all over, I could tell it wasn't completely gone. It was as if he was looking down on us for what we've been through.

"It's okay," Aaron told him more than us before motioning us inside the walls. "Come on in, guys."

As I walked through I felt my jaw drop as I looked around the community. The place looked as if it were part of a homeowners association. A proper neighbourhood with freshly cut grass, the streets were pristine, and every single house looked to be not only properly cared for, but lived in.

My eyes kept moving because there was so much more to look at. It was as if the walkers never knew about this place. A preserved community during the end of the world.

Once the gate closed behind us the man on watch took a step forward, "Before we take this any further, I need you all to turn over your weapons. Stay, you hand them over."

I subconsciously gripped my gun a little tighter as Rick stepped forward, "We don't know if we want to stay," he said, holding his Python in one hand and Judith in his other.
