I was nervous, to say the least. I was standing in the Mclaren garage, next to Max.
We haven't said a word to each other since yesterday, but I knew I had to talk to him. I had to do it for Lando.
"So, here is your headset. You can hear me and it will cancel the noise a bit" Lando said as he put a headset in my hand.
It was cute how he was still taking care of me when he had to be in his car in a couple of minutes.
"And if you have questions, you can ask Max, he will answer them, right?" Lando said as he raised his eyebrow to Max.
Max nodded, but he wasn't too excited about it.
"Thank you, you'll do great. Be careful" I said as I touched his arm softly.
We agreed to not kiss or touch each other when there were cameras around.
We also came separately to the track this morning. I wasn't ready for the whole world to know we were dating.
I wanted to enjoy this moment a little longer, without any hate or jealousy.
Lando smiled at me and hugged Max before walking to his trainer and engineers.

I was excited to watch his race, but I also wanted to fix things with Max before the end of the race.

The start of the race was nerve wrecking but unfortunately the rest of the race was quite boring. I wish Lando got a better car, I knew he was talented and this was exactly the reason why he wanted to start this agreement in the first place, he was frustrated.
I was happy I could now calm him down with more than sex now, with love.

"Max, I just wanna say that I know I did something very stupid but I really like Lando" I said as I turned to Max, I put my headphones down.
He was still wearing them but I knew he heard me.
"I don't want him because he is rich or whatever. I like him because he's silly, the sweetest soul and incredibly handsome" my confession made Max chuckle a little.
He put his headphones down on his shoulders and looked at me. "Promise that you won't hurt him" he said as he looked at me.
"I promise, not intentionally at least" I held my pinky up to him. It was something silly but I needed to break the ice somehow.
He rolled his eyes laughing as he wrapped his pinky around me.

"He likes you for a long time already" Max casually said. "Don't tell him I said this" he continued.
I quickly looked at him and he just winked at me with a smile on his face.
"Me too" I admitted. I probably started liking him since our phone call late at night.
Thank goodness my vibrators were dead that night.

"Are you coming to the next race?" Max asked. He was actually making small talk, it was a little victory.
"Where is it again?" Note to self, check his races, when and where they were.
"Canada" I quickly shook my head. "I have to work" I couldn't quickly fly to Canada after my shift.
Maybe this was gonna be harder than I anticipated.
"You like working there?" Why did everyone wanna know if I like working there?
It's not like people asked that question to a CEO or heart surgeon.
"It pays the bills" I honestly said. It wasn't my dream job but I also didn't hate it.
"I bet Lando likes that he has an unlimited amount of sausages right now" he chuckled. "If he pays for them, yeah" I laughed and so did Max.

Maybe it wasn't that bad that we had to stand next to each other for two hours.
Maybe we needed that.
We definitely needed that.
