Aimée's POV
Two weeks have passed since my date didn't show up that evening in the bar. I didn't go on another date since. I concentrated on my school and terrible job.
It was finally time to close the store, I couldn't wait to go home and just drop down in my bed.
"I'm sorry can I grab something real quick?" Someone said just as I locked the door. "We're closed" I said as I turned around.
Of course it had to be him.
"Please, I am going away tomorrow and I desperately need something" He practically begged me to open the store again.
"Fine, but do it quick please" I sighed as I unlocked the door again. "You're a lifesaver" he smiled as he almost ran through the store.
I walked to the register and rang him up as soon as he returned with his stuff. He didn't need anything special, just some food, drinks and... sausages.
"Are you addicted to sausages or something?" I looked at him as he scanned his credit card. "Didn't your boss teach you not to judge your customers?" he looked serious but I still saw a little smile on his face. "I think I missed that meeting" I locked the register again and walked with him to the exit.
"I'll walk you home" he casually said as he opened the box of sausages and put one in his mouth. He looked at me as he offered me one of his sausages. "No thanks" I shook my head. I couldn't believe he was offering me sausages in the middle of the streets.
"Are you going on a vacation?" I changed the subject. He looked at me with a frown on his face. "You said you were going away tomorrow?" He nodded as he put another sausage on his mouth. "I'm going to my next race, I'm a F1 driver" he said with his mouth full.
I knew that already, we discovered that during our Google and Instagram search. "Where are you going to?" I didn't know why I cared, but I'd rather talk than walk in complete silence. "Australia" he seemed so casual about it, as if it wasn't a big deal. It probably wasn't for him, he travelled all over the world - I wish I could live that life, I wish I could travel the world.
But instead I was struggling to make enough money to pay rent and a little bit of food.
"Did the dude apologize for not showing up that day?" Lando asked as he put his sausages away and popped a chewing gum in his mouth.
I shook my head. He completely ghosted me. "He's an idiot" he mumbled. There was not a sign of sarcasm in his voice.
"Oh well" I shrugged my shoulders. It wasn't a big deal because I wanted nothing more than a fun night with him. It's not as if I wanted a relationship or something like that.
I wanted to ask him how his date went, but I decided not to ask. It was none of my business. We weren't friends, we weren't even acquaintances.
"This is me" I said as I stopped in front of my building. Lando looked up, just as he scanned me that night at the bar, he was now scanning my apartment building.
"Thanks for opening the store again" he said as his eyes looked in mine again. "We can't have you leave for Australia without your sausages right?" I chuckled. Maybe he wasn't as bad as I thought he was but he definitely needed to do something about that addiction.
"Exactly" he said as he turned around putting his hand in the air. "Bye Amy"
I rolled my eyes, I take it back. He was as horrible as I thought he was.
