Lando's POV

I looked at Aimée as she walked out of the bar. I obviously knew that Amy wasn't her name but it was fun to rile her up a little.
She was a fierce one and I liked that about her, but I definitely wasn't interested in something more, not with her, not with anyone.
I was still recovering from my latest relationship, which ended in a terrible heartbreak. She was definitely the love of my life, but I guess it wasn't mutual.
Our lifestyles didn't seem to match. I couldn't blame her, I was away for most of the year, traveling all over the world.

"So who was that?" Kelly nudged me as she started laughing.
"She works at the store" I explained. There was nothing else to say. I didn't know her, at all.
"And what about you and stealing sausages?" She frowned, still with a smile on her face.
"I just forgot to pay for them" I shrugged it off. It wasn't such a big deal like Aimée seemed to think it was.
Kelly laughed it off too. I was happy she was the one who witnessed the whole thing.

We were waiting for Max to finally arrive. We agreed to meet up together here and I bumped into Kelly as soon as I arrived. Max was still stuck in a meeting, so Kelly and I ended up drinking together.
I didn't really mind because I liked to hang around with Kelly.
After half an hour, Max finally walked in. He quickly kissed Kelly and nodded at me. "I'm sorry I was stuck in this boring meeting" Max sighed as he quickly ordered something to drink. He never liked these kind of meetings, I didn't either but Max's heart was full with racing, nothing else really peaked his interest.
I, on the other hand, had a lot of different interests, sometimes maybe a little bit too many but if I had to throw them all away to win a championship in F1, I wouldn't hesitate. Not even for one second.
It's all I wanted but I wasn't even close to reach that dream. I never even won a race, I should start concentrating on that first.

I looked at Max, he was saying goodbye to Kelly who decided to leave. He already won two championships, a lot of races and was in a happy relationship with someone who supported him through everything.
If I didn't like him so much, I would definitely hate him.

I quickly grabbed my phone because I noticed I was staring at them. Instead of staring at them, I was staring at my phone.
Should I text her? Tell her I miss her? I definitely missed her. It was everything about her, her laugh, her beautiful eyes, the way she could handle my banter.
Fuck I missed her.

"Not a good idea mate" Max said as he pointed at my phone. He was right, it was a terrible idea, she wouldn't take me back anyways.  "I know" I said as I locked my phone and put it back in my pocket. "I just miss her" I mumbled, I wasn't sure if Max heard it but he patted my back in comfort.
"Look around mate, you have so many girls to chose from" I looked around the bar, some girls started giggling as soon as I looked at them and others just winked and tried to look at me as sexy as they could.
"I'm not ready for another relationship yet" I quickly looked back at Max. It wouldn't be fair for them, because I was still thinking about my ex. I would only use them to get over her.
"Who's talking about a relationship?" he said as he finished his drink. "I know you're not ready for a relationship, but you need to get that frustration out" he was right. I was struggling with a lot of things right now. The car was no where, it was lacking pace and just terrible to drive. I wasn't fighting to win, I was fighting to finish the race.
But I also wasn't the type of guy to have a lot of one nightstands, I just didn't want to deal with that.

I sighed as I finished my drink as well. We had a couple of days off before the next race, but I wasn't as excited as I would usually be.
I was scared to get in the car again, scared that I would finish dead last again.
