The Tale of the Summer Child.
An Avatar: the Last Airbender (ATLA) fanfiction // Zuko x OC
He looked at the man who had a smirk on his face and a parrot suddenly came flying to hi shoulder, before seeing him mouth something about the lines of more than this amount of gold pieces and Zuko immediately threw the currency towards the man. He catched it swiftly with his parrot catching one for himself.
"Would you like me to assist you on your hair, miss?" now the man was trespassing her space, she profusely shook her head, making him smirk and walk towards a table, as if waiting for something to returning judging on the uneasiness his fingers were as they tapped against the table in a fast pace, "Let me help you with it."
Natsuko wanted to shake her head as well, of course after denying the other man's kindness or just his offer, but instead gingerly handed it to Zuko, who was careful enough not to scare her or feel the closeness of her hands in his. Zuko placed the object on her hair, gliding it carefully along the tresses of her hair that seemed to be caught in by the tangles on the end. He took locks of her hair from each side of her head and intertwined it together, pinning it with the wooden material.
"It's all done."
She looked at Zuko and wanted to see what she looked like. It was just a hair comb on her, nothing changed but her hair was out of the way of her face, it was at the back of her head, of course it wouldn't change anything else, but she didn't need anything else like to change her appearance.
"Does it look good?"
She was beautiful.
"It looks fine."
Iroh was still side glancing his nephew and the girl who has been coming along with their journey to finding the Avatar, seeing how they looked unaware of each other but is suffocating everyone else in the room, "Oh, that is handsome."
Zuko and Natsuko went to Uncle Iroh to see the fascinating and unique art he took a liking to. The boy with a scar wasn't amazed with it and looked at the girl who was nervously twirling her hair before reaching at her back to grab the comb. Zuko stopped her hand from moving to grab the hair comb which he retracted almost immediately if he didn't realize that he was touching her hand. She was, however, persistent in placing it back before she could even forget it was on her.
"It's fine, I don't think it suits me anymore anyways."
"Keep it."
Natsuko's eyes widen, "You didn't have to-"
"We lost the Water Tribe girl and the little bald monk she was travelling with."
There was another man aboard the ship now, an employee of the man who ran the store maybe, seeing that he was talking about, by the description, Aang and the others which meant they weren't somewhere far from the place they were in. She heard Zuko butt in to the conversation who also had heard about what the two men were talking to and was walking towards the them.
"This monk, did he have an arrow on his head?"

Because of my paranoid ass, I don't want to take pictures on the internet and add a disclaimer because I don't think they get enough credit for it so I do my own stuff but I broke the pen of my pentab and I would rather buy a soldering iron than another pen, so this photo for now would suffice.

This was taken from Pinterest and belongs to the owner. Also, it reminds me of a fire lily and it's really pretty.
I as a bit later than usual to update, I woke up to Sir Bryan and Sir Michael decided to not move forward with the Avatar remake and now everybody's going all frenzy about it because it's potentially another Netflix series and movie nobody asked for. I personally don't own a Netflix account cause it's a waste of money to invest in but I considered just to see the show. I hope that the original creators would be able to make it again one day and meet the expectations they wanted because creativity shouldn't be stopped from doing what it does best.
(Also, there has been rumors about the Netflix adaptation focusing on the romantic side of Avatar but we don't need that, we have fanfic for it pssh. like, who would want a Katara, Aang, and Zuko love triangle?)
Anyways, enjoy and read responsibly but as always, stay beautiful and safe!
