Being teenagers in love can be either a phase or an actual relationship in rare cases, for Jean's case it was a relationship he'll cherish til his bones hurt, til his face has gone wrinkly and old, til he can no longer breath.

Jean loved her and she loved him, both teenagers crazy in love for each other making other's around them question the relationship both of them had, the age is too young to claim too many responsibilities so it's valid for adults to question.

Jean met her in the survey corps and instantly fell for her, it took him months to get her to like him back but she couldn't reject him after all he was too cute and acted like a genius around his friends.

He was at least genuine to her and loved her, it was enough convince her of his love, Jean was clingy to her and got jealous easily which made him the target for his friends to tease with.

Connie would intentionally get close to y/n so Jean gets mad and silly, she made him get all shaken and crazy just by the slightest tease or touch.

Jean was really shy around her, he couldn't decide if he should talk or hug or do something else to her, he would get stressed over his behavior, it took a lot to calm down a frantic Jean.

She was both like a fresh wind and overwhelming feeling to him at the same time, oh how crazy she got him within the matter of a few months, he was ready to do anything for her and sometimes did her work duties for her.

Jean would cry in her arms cuz it reminded him of his mother's and felt like she behaved like his father whenever she chose act authoritarian to make Jean do something, he loved her regardless.
