the two looked at the body on the floor.

"michael." calum croaked.

the bedside draw was open, clothes thrown everywhere, the spot where the gun was once hidden.

michael's body laid twisted on the floor.

calum's hand still clutched the gun.

"do you think," calum asked.

tears formed in his eyes, but he didn't dare let them fall.

"it's ok calum." emily said.

the two decided that it was best to leave the room, calum only feeling more guilty the longer he spent in there.

the two walked back towards the lounge room, unsure where else to go.

emilys apartment was structured differently compared to the other apartments in the building. big, long steel support beams ran across the roof.

small gaps left between each beam and the roof.

they noticed a figure in the distance, a person stood on a chair.

curly, dirty blonde hair, black soulless eyes, smiling a crooked smile.

rope tied around his neck. attached to a support beam.

he kicked the chair that was under him, making it fall over.

"no, ashton." emily screamed.

but his body dangled, hanging by the rope.

the two stood there, completely empty for words.

both crying. tears ran down their cheeks,

now they were the last two.
