Why Can't You Understand? Drew/drake angst

Drew's opening up

Friday (Jake's POV):

The sleepover was a lot of fun. Shannon dropped off all of us at school. I didn't tell the Jomies, especially not Drew, or else they'll get crazy mad. I do not know what's their problem with the music club, they can get annoying sometimes. But when I arrived, I was surprised to find that Drew wasn't at our usual meeting spot—his locker.

"Oh- HOHO JAKE! How was yesterday night??" Henry said smirking

I stared at them with a confused face, did they know?-

"Did you do something to your Drewy-bear" Liam joked and snickered.
I didn't know what they were talking about and so I just stared at them blankly

The two idiots laughed and laughed until they saw Jake's face, then they immediately stopped.

"Why do you look like that?-" Henry stared at him, looking up and down.

"Didn't you have a 'sleepover' with Drew????"

Wut. A sleepover? With DREW?!?!

OH MY GOSH- I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A SLEEPOVER WITH DREW

I gasped and covered my mouth, Liam and Henry did the same.

"Don't tell me you FORGOT!" Henry yelled
"Well I- I-" I tried to explain

I totally forgot, and that was the truth. I gave myself a facepalm

I looked at Liam and Henry's expressions, fear?-

"UHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-HUHUHUHHHHHHHHHHH" I started to wine

"What am I suppose to do?!?!?! He's probably so madd" I panicked

The bell rang and I told them that I'll figure something out. I went to my first class, which Drew was also in. I took a seat at my usual spot and started looking around for Drew. I was horrified to see that he was NOWHERE.

After class, when the teacher finished her lecture, I was packing up. Before I can step out the door, someone called for me.

"Jake? Can I talk to you" The teacher said
I nodded and walked up to her
"Do you know where Drew is? It's been quite a while since he was absent"

I lied and told her I didn't know, she then dismissed me.

The day went by really fast. I was still puzzled by the fact that Drew wasn't at school today. Though I never really thought that I could've just sent him a text or asked a friend. I decided to simply wait, until Monday.

Monday (Drew POV):

I didn't want to go to school but I kind of had to. I already missed a day, I cannot miss another. Even though I am in IB, school is still not as hard as I thought. But it is still important to attend. I was greeted by Henry yelling in my ears.

"DREWWWWW" I heard Henry yell as he jumped on me. Liam was there too and they both hugged me tightly.

I was too weak to fight back so I just let them be.
"Haha drew we didn't expect you to accept the hug!" Henry said

"Not by choice. I'm a little tired today," he said as he waved them off

"We missed you so much" Henry exclaimed.
"It's only been 1 day" I rolled my eye
"3! Including the weekend!!" Henry complained

Liam held his short friend back by the shoulder

"Are you ok man? You never miss school" Liam asked with concern.

"Oh yeah! We heard what happened on Thursday night" Henry gave him a sad look

What do you mean?!

"How much?" I ask quietly, looking around

"like how Jake left you?" Henry said

"is that all?" I asked quietly

"while yeah! Is there more?" Henry asked, confused

I sighed in relief, thanks Zoey

"Oh no no" I waved my hand.
Those two being idiots they just shrugged it off.

"Again, Are you ok Drew? We know the sleep meant a lot to you" Liam asks quietly

"Mhm, it's no big deal anyways. I got a lot of work done." I tried to sound proud of myself

Henry and Liam shared an 'Idk man' look and looked at Drew sadly

"All right man, just please don't do anything stupid," Henry said quietly

I smiled at him. Not with my usual smirk but a genuine smile. I watched their mouth open and their eyes lit up.

I chuckled and shuffled Henry's hair
"Don't worry about me, alright?" I said reassuringly and then prepared to leave

3rd person:

Liam and Henry stood there speechlessly they understood that, just now, they experienced a different drew. He's never been like this before he never smiles genuinely unless he's with Jake. Drew is opening up to Henry and Liam. They knew that this was a rare moment and they needed to return the love

Before he walked too far. They ran up to him and gave him a big hug, a gentle hug, a hug of affection. Drew stopped walking, he understood what this hug is supposed to be. He smiled slightly and accepted the hug.

"We love you Drew..."
