Chapter 32

Chapter 32 : Pinsan

The air from the tall trees that shaded us from the scorching sun envelopes us as we fix our picnic mat on the healthy green grass that most of the park is surrounded with.

“Where's the basket pala? Ilagay natin dito..” I said to him as I gestures the middle of the picnic mat. Kinuha niya ang basket na may laman na mga pagkain namin at nilahad ito sa sa akin.

I smiled. “Thank you...” 

“Is the food's good for you?” He asked after he straightened our picnic mat, bago dahan-dahan na umupo roon. I took off my sandals and placed it on the side of the mat, bago patagilid na humarap sa kanya. 

Tumango ako. “Oo naman! Madami na nga ‘yan eh...it's all sweets.” I stated. 

He nodded before he attentively looked closely at me. 

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay at ngumuso. “Bakit?” 

“You won't complain that they're no Ice creams?” He asked, tilting his head on the other side. 

Napalunok ako ngunit napailing na lang rin. “No, kung mag-ice cream tayo dito, matutunaw din naman. It's better to have no ice c-cream...” 

“I'm sorry, if I didn't buy any ice creams.” 

“Ayos lang! We could buy ice cream naman if merong ice cream track na pupunta sa park, maya-maya.”

“No, dapat bumili na lang ako. Can you wait for here? I'll buy some—” sabi niya at ambang tumayo ng kaagad kong marahan na hinawakan ang kanyang palapulsuhan. 

He stopped and his widened eyes glance at me

I pouted. “Hindi na, I want to picnic right now. Ayaw ko ng disturbo, kung ano na iyong nandito kuntento na ako, kaya please? Let's picnic na. I want to cherish this moment with you..” I said. 

Nakita ko ang kanyang pag-iwas ng tingin sa akin. Gumalaw ang adam's apple niya dahil sa paglunok. Dahan-dahan na rin siyang umupo kaya dahan-dahan ko ring kinuha ang mga kamay ko sa kanya. 

“Let's start na? We have a cake right? Let's blow the candle together!” I exclaimed, smiling. 

His eyes widened and his eyes shined of amusement, a smile touched his lips. 

“Sure, let's go.” he agreed. 

Kinuha ko ang cake na nasa basket at dahan-dahan itong inilabas roon. I put it in front of us. 

I smiled when I saw what's written on it using the icing mix.

“I want to put your name first, pero iyong binigay mo na lang ang sinundan ko..” He stated, softly. 

Tumango ako. “It's better this way, dahil mas malaki ‘yung grade mo sa akin! So, dapat una ka talaga!” 

“It does not always work like that. It should be, the one who's been having a hard time reaching the top, so she could feel that her achievement really matters.” He interjects. 

Napanguso ako at napagtanto na may punto rin naman siya.  

“Let's not think about it. Let's blow the candle together..” Pag-aya niya. 

I instantly smiled and grinned. I handed him the cake so he could hold it while I prepared the camera, which is his phone. He volunteered his phone to capture us to blow the candle together.
