"Hey, why don't we get inside?"

Yujin smiled softly and Annie nodded.

I thought the matter was about the two of us?

Why are we talking separately? Is this some kind of criminal interrogation?

"Haerim."

"Yes?"

"You know I trust you, right?"

Even with Yujin's calm tone, she still felt anxious.

"Yeah..?"

"You also know I'm always by your side, right?"

"I guess..?"

I'm failing to see what this is about.

"So you're going to be honest with me, right?"

"You're scaring me, Yujin, what happened? Is there a new rumour going around?"

Annie laughed nervously.

"Someone came to see me this morning to talk about you."

"Me? Why?"

"They told me you broke a rule."

Broke a rule? What rul–

Being almost sure where this was going, Annie used her acting skills to keep a poker face.

"What rule? Please explain, Yujin. What made you call me this late at night?"

"Look, it's hard for me to believe too, but someone said you're dating a Stray Kids member."

"Huh?!!"

She nearly yelled.

"Who said that nonsense?! Why? Just because I'm close to them?"

"This is what makes me confused. I honestly would've believed if they said it was Changbin, but Lee Know? It's not true, right?"

Yujin forced a smile.

"What the hell?! You know I hate that dude!"

"Right? Ay, I knew it! Jaein must've misunderstood something."

So it was Jaein?

I mean, I suspected but...

"Jaein? What did she say to you?"

"She just said you and him were dating and I should take measures about it."

What does she want to accomplish with this?

"...anyhow, I'm glad it's not true, we almost got in big trouble a day before the shooting!"

Yujin chuckled and Annie also forced a laugh.

"Yeah...I'll clear things up with Jay too, thanks for telling me."

"Oh, right, you should. Shall I take you home now?"

"It's fine, I need to talk with Chan about a song, then we'll go home together."

The manager nodded.

"Be careful. Don't forget to wear a hat and a mask, we don't want any more misunderstandings."

"Hm. See you tomorrow."

They bid their goodbyes and Annie jogged back to her studio.

Two minutes later, the other door also opened. Yujin watched the idol leave before approaching his manager.

"What did he say?"

"That he doesn't know why the girl hates him so much, but he also doesn't want to get involved with her."

They nodded together.

"I knew those two could never be a thing."
