NEVER LOOK BACK (Chapter 2)

Recap :

"I need to peeeeeeeee." A new and unfamiliar voice caught my attention. I looked up and see a little girl, legs crossed to hold up her pee. She had long brown hair that waved perfectly that matched her slightly tanned skin. This kid looked like she's been spending her time at the beach her whole life, like I was when I was a kid. She looked like someone I knew long ago that I can't seem to fathom. In all honesty, she looks adorable on her pink plaid top and her black skater skirt. Not to mention, this kid's rocking a black Dr. Martens. Nice choice of foot wear, kid. But who the hell is this child?

"Bathroom is this way, honey. Come on" I stand up and assisted the child to the bathroom. I felt her little hands clasp onto mine as she hurriedly followed after me to the bathroom. I opened the door and let her in asking her if she can do it herself.

"Help, please?" She looks up at me, with her puppy dog eyes. Her eyes looks so familiar. As well as her cheekbones, and those lips. I don't know if this was caused by the sudden rush of blood to my face when I carried the child to the toilet, but she looks exactly like Lucy. Am I dreaming? What the fuck?

Lauren's POV

"I'm done." The little girl sways her legs and smiles shyly at me, and indication that she has finished peeing. I wiped her and set her down the floor, fixing her clothes before we washed her hands and headed outside. I could hear my parents bickering about something in Spanish, and that means something important is up. I felt the child hold on my hand tighter, I guess she doesn't want to be there either.

"Hey, do you want something to eat? Are you hungry?" pulling the little girls arm, getting her attention. I am starving my self, and this uncured hangover is making it more difficult for me to keep my head straight. Literally and figuratively.

She looks up to me with a big smile on her face. "Fritata con Patatas?"

"Well, today's your lucky day. I Lauren Jauregui is the master of Fritata con Patatas!" i chuckled and carried the giggling kid to the kitchen. I am not ready to hear what my parents had to say, so I snuck this kid to the kitchen. I don't even know her name. What's wrong with me pulling the child all over the place and I don't even know her name. Stupid, Lauren.

"Would you mind telling me what your name is, beautiful?" I asked her as I settled her down the island on my kitchen.

"Ava" she smiles at me adorably. That freaking smile just made my heart melt. And I recognize that smile.

"Hey Ava, I'm Lauren. I'm 23. How about you?" I asked her as I tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.

"Fouw" she said quietly, holding up 4 fingers up as she was swinging her legs on the island, a habit I always did when I'm nervous.

"Hey Ava, it's okay. You don't have to be nervous around me." Ava looked at me for about 2 seconds and she started swinging her legs again. "Hey honey. do you want to help me prepare your fritata so we could eat faster?" I said smiling at her widely. She smiled at me and jumped to my arms. I got her attention again, thank goodness. There's something about this kid that I am so intrigued about. Why is she with my parents? Well I guess I have to find out.
