"No, my real family. I'm just...adopted."

"Oh! Sure we can! But, do ye have any leads already?"

I nodded. "Their location." I told her and she put the bag of chips aside. "Let's do this then! Let me contact Avery and Dane first." She said. "Not to mention, where is Avery living?" I asked her. "Surprisingly, Dane and Avery are neighbors! They can talk to each other via window." Joy said. "Alright! Let's do this!" I'm motivated already. But wait! I haven't contacted Lewis yet. "Will we start the search already?" I asked her. "No, tomorrow will do! I'll just tell them to help ye tomorrow. Not that I'm spilling out yer secret without yer consent. It's also late now." Joy's so considerate. Or maybe she's just sleepy.

"I'm going to bed."

"Good night."

I knew it. She's just sleepy. If I find out who my true parents are, what kind of reaction will I be having I suppose? Time to go to bed first!

"Maddieee~! Wake up!"

"What? Wh-what's going on?"

Joy shook me a couple of times. "Aren't we gonna search for yer parents? So we're taking the day off!" I checked my phone. "It's Saturday." I said. "Well, let's gather with them!" Joy said. I changed my clothes and went outside. Lewis, Dane and Avery were waiting. "Hey, are we gonna go parent-hunting or what?" Lewis asked. I grinned. "We'll be there!" I exclaimed and took my bag and phone. Joy hurriedly went downstairs and I followed her. "Maddie, leads?" Dane asked me. "Ah yes! They live in 44th West Drive just 12 blocks away from this apartment." I said. "Then if we go now, we wouldn't lose much time. Let's go!" We ran and ran towards West Drive. Mom, dad, please welcome me home.

"What part are we already? My feet are numb."

"43rd West Drive. We're almost there."

I checked the time on my phone. It's almost 3 pm. "We still got a long way ahead of us! 5 more blocks." I calmly said but deep down, I'm also tired! "Let's keep going! Yeah!" Avery motivated. "I understand youth, kid. I went through that." Lewis said as he lies down on a heap of snow. "Isn't it cold?" I asked him. "Not really. It's the normal type of cold." Oh yeah, he already got Jack's powers. "But, you're not an old man, Lewis." Dane said. "Yeah, I know. I wanna sleep...here." He did fell asleep. But I just remembered something.

"Lewis, you can fly right?"

"Only in urgent matters."

I shifted my expression to that of a pitiful girl. "Please~!" He took a moment to decide. "Whatever, fine. Hold my hand." He said, and I did. He held up his right hand to the sky. "Well, that'll do." He said. "What will do?-" He lifted up from the ground as the wind from our direction swept us the the 44th West Drive. He stepped on some house's roof. "That's exciting!" He said. "I-I don't think so." I feel like vomiting. "So, whose house?" He asked. I smiled. "I don't know." He face-palmed. "I'm gonna go fetch the others." He said and went back to Joy, Dane and Avery. I need some sort of guide. Ughhh! Please, guardians, Mantara! Send me some help!

"I need to know who my parents are."

My pendant suddenly flickered. "It-It's glowing!" I exclaimed. I don't know the meaning of it, but I hope it's important. Seconds later, the glowing became more and more radiant, until it doesn't flicker, it just glowed brightly. "This doesn't make sense!" I exclaimed.

"Who's up there?"

"Umm..."

I was shocked. A lady with brown hair saw me on their roof, and her expression was shocked. Of course, finding somebody on the roof of your house will make you shocked. I looked at my pendant it was still glowing. Maybe I have found my answer! Lewis, Dane, Joy and Avery aren't here yet, maybe I can talk to this woman. "I'm here up on your roof." I showed myself to the woman. "Why are you there? It's dangerous. I'll send someone to help you, it may take a moment." I nodded. She might be her.

My true mother.
