Lisa questioned her. “Are all your helpers on leave today?”
“No.” Tzuyu frowned. “You didn’t see the helpers?”
“Very clearly, Yook Sungjae added sleeping pills to your water and sent the helpers away,” Lisa concluded.
Through the time they had spent together, Lisa had learned that Tzuyu was not a careless person. Since she had promised not to become intimate with Sungjae, there was no way she would give him the opportunity for it to happen.
In that case, it was very likely Tzuyu had also become pregnant in her previous life because of Sungjae’s despicable approach.
“Yook Sungjae, you!” Tzuyu threw a pillow at him in anger.
Sungjae suffered a blow from the pillow and rushed to explain. “Tzu, don’t listen to Lisa’s nonsense. Your helpers learned that you were feeling unwell and left to purchase medicine for you. How could I possibly add sleeping pills to your water…”
“The cup is still downstairs.” Lisa harrumphed coldly. “Isn’t it? Everything will be clear once we check that glass of water.”
Sungjae’s handsome and cheerful appearance finally changed slightly. “Even if you find something in the water, it’s not related to me!”
“So you’re admitting that there are sleeping drugs in the cup?” Lisa pointed out.
“I’m only talking about a hypothetical situation.” Sungjae responded in anger. “Regardless of whether or not there are problems with the water, it wasn’t done by me. The Chou family has so many enemies in the business world. Perhaps it was someone else with unkind intentions.”
“Tzuyu is clearly feeling unwell. Why didn’t you bring her to a doctor?” Lisa smiled mockingly. “Are you about to say that she appeared fine? You weren’t even able to wake her up. Is this what you consider ‘fine’?”
“In any case, you’re intentionally trying to come in between Jiamu and I!” Sungjae grew thoroughly frustrated.
Lisa decided to admit it. “You’re absolutely correct.”
For the sake of protecting her life, she needed to keep this perverted and abusive man far away from Tzuyu!
“You!” Sungjae was nearly trembling in anger. There had never been a woman he had failed to obtain.
He was just about to succeed once more when an ugly Lisa appeared out of the blue. It truly drove him to anger!
“Tzu, you heard her.” Sungjae adjusted his expression and suddenly sounded especially hurt. “Lisa is planning on coming in between us. I’ve never met her before. There’s no way I could have offended her…”
Tzuyu leaned back against the bed frame. She first glanced at Lisa before turning to Sungjae.
She said weakly, “Sungjae, if Lisa doesn’t like you and wishes for us to break up, in that case…”
“Stop interacting with her in the future.” Sungjae urged. “She’s just a friend. You can always make more. But I’m your boyfriend. In the future, we will be married and we will spend a lifetime together. You can’t give me up for a friend.”
Lisa lifted her brows. “Tzuyu, go ahead and say how you feel.”
Regardless of whether or not Tzuyu intended on giving up their friendship for this bastard, just based on the way Tzuyu had treated her all this while, Lisa decided she would not allow her to be with Sungjae again, or for the same tragedy to repeat itself.
Tzuyu was silent for a moment before she reached out to hold Lisa’s hand. She spoke apologetically to Sungjae. “Sungjae, I’m sorry. To me, Lisa isn’t just a friend. She is the only person who sincerely cares about me. I believe that there are always reasons behind her actions. If I have to make a choice between the two of you, I would choose her.”
