Wei Youan was dumbstruck for several seconds. He had offended the emperor himself. Wasn’t he doomed?
How did he suddenly obtain a promotion? His ability was rather lacking and it was more than ten years since he was last promoted.
To think he was promoted. This was amazing!
His gaze landed on Lisa and he quickly understood that it was the effect of her earlier kiss.
In the past, he had seen people using similar tactics. But this was his first time seeing someone as ugly as succeed with this method.
Although right now, he couldn’t see past the things she had applied on her skin, he could recall her ugly appearance from when he saw her on television.
Wei Youan sighed. “Miss Lee, your… heart is beautiful.”
Lisa was confused. Why was she suddenly praised?
Wei Youan was an insightful man. He understood that Jungkook was giving face to Lisa. He said, “Thank you for your consideration earlier.”
“You’re welcome.” Lisa understood his meaning this time. She guessed that he had seen her appearance on television.
She also understood that he was sincerely praising her.
The passer-bys however, were confused. “Police Officer Wei, you’re amazing! You actually dared to stop the emperor’s car!”
“Your courage is out of this world. I think, in the entire city, you would be the only person with the guts to do so!”
Wei Youan was praised to the heavens. He could only laugh sheepishly. “I was merely doing my job.” He couldn’t possibly admit that he didn’t know Jungkook was in the car, right?
“I thought Sir Wei was doomed. I didn’t expect him to be promoted. Jeon Jungkook is truly a fair man. He broke the rules and gracefully accepted the punishment to act as a model for the public. I have to learn more from God Jeon Jungkook… I’ll definitely abide by the traffic rules in the future!”
The passers-by expressed admiration from the bottom of their modest hearts.
Lisa opened the door and went to the backseat of the M760. This time, she did not squeeze into the co-driver’s seat with Jungkook.
However, Jungkook did not follow her in. “Lisa, I only had thirty minutes to accompany you. I have urgent matters to deal with, now.”
“That’s alright. Go ahead.” She smiled at him.
Jungkook gave her an apologetic look.
He had hoped to spend more time with her. However, he needed to manage a large enterprise like Shi Shi Group and also, take care of the vital matters that the Jeon family were involved in. Those were of utmost secrecy and could not be handed over to outsiders.
A SUV had driven over and was parked on the side of the road. Jungkook stepped into the co-driver’s seat and the car quickly drove away.
Wei Youan rushed to bow towards the leaving car. “Please go safely!”
Lisa stared at the SUV dazedly.
Sigh, the love of her life was too busy.
He didn’t come home to sleep last night and he only stayed with her for thirty minutes today.
As Soobin continued driving, he glanced at Lisa’s gloomy expression through the rearview mirror and said, “Miss Lee, don’t be upset. Boss has been especially busy recently. Every minute he spent with you earlier was forcefully squeezed out of his busy schedule. He actually rushed back from abroad this morning and he has to leave for another business trip right now.”
“I’m not unhappy. My heart aches for him when I see how busy he is.” She pursed her lips.
Tong Yu responded. “It seems like you’re not as fond of Jeon Mingyu as they say you are outside.”
At the very least, from his perspective, the relationship between Miss Lee and his boss was rather strong.
“Is Jeon Mingyu worthy of holding your boss’s shoes?” She replied. “I’m not blind.”
“No.” Soobin responded immediately.
Their boss was a man comparable to God. Although Mingyu also hailed from the Jeon family, from their perspective, he was but a weak bastard.
“Isn’t it clear then?” Lisa nodded mildly.
They were arriving at a crossroad and Soobin asked. “Where would you like to go now?”
She was about to tell him to drive aimlessly for a while when she received Sehun’s message.
