(Takes place the day the group visits the treehouse before Sunny leaves)

Aubrey sat in his room and thought about everything that had been happening over the past couple of days. He had finally been getting over his childhood crush, Sunny, when she finally showed back up after four years. Aubrey sighed and looked at the pictures of Mari that he had taken from Basil's photo album. He really wished he could talk to her and ask her for advice on this situation. "Hey Aubrey?" A voice interrupted his thoughts. He quickly turned around and saw Kel, Hero, and Sunny in his room. He internally panicked and tried to figure out what to say to any of them.

"Wh-What are you doing here?" He demanded.

"Kim told us you weren't coming out of your house and asked us to check on you." Hero replied. Aubrey sighed, he appreciated Kim and the others' concern but he really didn't know how to handle this situation.

"I'm fine." He insisted. Hero didn't look convinced. Kel and Sunny decided to let Hero do the talking, which was probably for the best.

"I wanted to hear from you, what happened yesterday?" Hero asked. Aubrey looked down at the floor.

"Nothing."

"You pushed Basil into the lake! You know he can't swim!" Kel yelled. Aubrey clenched his fists in annoyance. He already felt bad about it, he didn't need Kel yelling at him. He spared a glance at Sunny, hoping to see some kind of reaction. She seemed uncomfortable with the argument and decided to stare at Aubrey's bunny instead.

"I didn't mean to do that. I just meant to push him away." Aubrey sighed. Kel looked like he had more to say, but surprisingly, Sunny put her hand on his shoulder to quiet him down. Aubrey felt relief at that, he wasn't in the mood for an argument, he tried to give her a grateful look, but she refused to meet his eyes. The room felt tense and suffocating, luckily Hero spoke up.

"These are the missing photos of Mari." He commented as he stared at the photos. Aubrey could see the pain in his eyes, Hero quickly hid it though and smiled at the group. "Why don't we put them back in the album?" He offered. Everyone agreed and Aubrey handed the photos to Sunny. She accepted them and placed them in their correct spots. "It's Sunny's last day here. We were thinking about visiting the treehouse. Do you want to come with us?" Hero asked. Aubrey hesitated before nodding. The group got up and left. Sunny led the group to her house and to the treehouse.

"It's been so long since we've been here." Kel commented as he looked around.

"There's my plushie." Aubrey smiled fondly at the eggplant plushie that he used to adore as a kid. He glanced over at Sunny to see how she was doing. She was looking around the treehouse at everything, though one thing in particular seemed to catch her attention. "What is it, Sunny?" She looked at him and then picked up a picture and showed it to him. It was a picture of everyone when they were younger, this had been a photo missing from Basil's album for a while. "So that's where this was. Do you want to put it in the album?" Sunny nodded and added it back in. Aubrey was so focused watching her, that he barely noticed Kel and Hero leaving, when he did, he panicked a little. He was finally alone with his crush and he wasn't sure what to do. Should he confess to her? Would it even matter? She'd be leaving soon. "Hey, Sunny..." He began. Sunny looked up from the photo album. Aubrey suddenly felt shy under her gaze. "Um...I..." He struggled to form the words he wanted to say. "Try to stay in touch after you move." He finally decided to say since that'd be easier. Sunny nodded. The two silently stood there, Aubrey mentally cursed himself for backing out of his confession. He took in a deep breath and decided to try again. "Sunny." She looked at him again. Aubrey couldn't help but blush, the sunlight coming through the window made her look so pretty. "Um...I wanted to say something else." She tilted her head in a questioning way. Aubrey shakily sighed, it was now or never. "I really like you. I've liked you ever since we were kids. I-I know you probably don't feel the same, I just wanted to tell you before...you know, you leave." He felt relief at finally getting the words out. He spared a glance at Sunny, she was still looking at him, she looked surprised. Aubrey couldn't tell if this was a good or bad thing and decided he really didn't want to know. "A-Anyway, we should catch up with the other two." He said and quickly turned to leave. He had gotten to the doorway when he felt a hand lightly touch his shoulder. He turned back and felt himself blush again. Sunny was smiling at him, it was the first smile Aubrey had seen from her in years.

"I like you too." Her voice was quiet and soft. It was a bit different from how Aubrey remembered it, but it still sounded nice.

"Really?" He was caught off guard by her words. "I-I mean, that's cool." He quickly tried to play off his surprise. Sunny gave him an amused look and gently squeezed his shoulder. He couldn't help but smile warmly at her.

"C'mon! What's taking you guys so long?!" Kel yelled from somewhere in the distance. Aubrey sighed at his terrible timing.

"Guess we really do need to get going." He said and climbed down, waiting for Sunny at the bottom. She quietly grabbed his hand when she got to the bottom and the two headed back to Kel and Hero. This day turned out better than he could've ever imagined.
