POV Wednesday

That was a warm early evening. The rays poured everything around with gold and the slight wind was stroking my hair. It was 4:55. I was waiting for a meeting with Xavier which was supposed to start in 5 minutes. I kept my back straight to maintain the illusion that I was not nervous. But it did not work. What if he will prepare something stupid like flowers and pop music? What if something will go wrong?
Last time when I Iet Xavier get closer it resulted in being on non-speaking terms for several weeks. What if I am not created for relationship at all? I do not know how to take care of someone. I cannot show feelings or speak about them. The tenderness is still alien for me. But I want to be with Xavier. So I have to try.

All secrets were disclosed. The sheriff was killed by Yoko's father. Rosenberg promised him to resurrect his wife if he followed her orders.

Xavier's father wanted more fame, popularity and power, so he agreed for such a venture.

Gabrielle escaped but the police promised to find her as soon as possible.

I saw a blue car getting closer to me. The vehicle stopped and the glass of front window went down. I saw Xavier at the wheel. He wore black glasses and remanded me of a man from the film "Matrix":
- Hey! Ready for a drive?
- Did you steal a car to impress me?
- What? - Xavier got confused. He took the glasses off. - No, it's my friend's car!
- Okay, - I got inside. We both felt awkward.
Several minutes passed in silence. Neither Xavier nor I knew what to say:
- So where are we going? - I asked to break the complete silence.
- Richmond, it's a town near Jericho.
- What are we going to do?
- It's a surprise, - Xavier said mysteriously. - Relax, Wednesday, I just plan to kill you and bury your body in the woods.
That made me smile. Xavier noticed it and that reduced awkward tension between us.

We were in the outskirts of Richmond in an hour. I saw an unfinished high-rise building in front of me:
- It was supposed to be a hotel, but the process of building was stopped because three builders died here under mysterious circumstances.

My eyes lit up like fire with these words:
- Our task is to get up to the top having understood what had happened to the builders, - Xavier was satisfied with my reaction. I saw a slight smile on his face.

The main entrance of the building was closed so we needed to find another option.
- Here should be a back door, - I whispered and my eyes hurried to find an extra entrance to the hotel. - Look there!
I headed to the end of the building. Xavier followed me. There door was slammed outside but one of the wooden boards was broken. If we took off the board we would be able to get in:
- I reckon a bit of a brute force wouldn't hurt, - I addressed to Xavier. He got my hint and broke the board. In a minute we were inside the hotel. I felt the smell of dust and concrete. Xavier passed me a torch so we could observe the room. There was a couple of chairs. I noticed a newspaper on one of them.
The newspaper was old so the pages were yellow and dirty. I read an article which consisted general information about the hotel and the builders who died here. Their bodies were found deformed in the yard the building. At first glance it looked like they had fallen out the top floor. I turned around and bumped into Xavier's chest. He was towering over me because the difference in height. Then he bent down to brush a strand of hair over my ear. I felt the smell of Xavier's mint shampoo and some weird warm feeling scattered from my head to the bottom of my belly. This new feeling made me scared so I hurried to conclude:
- We need to get to the next floor.

The stairs were blocked so we needed to find another way to do that. I saw a mouse hole in the ceiling and pointed it out to Xavier:
- Will you be able to give me a boost?
- Yes, I will go first, - Xavier took one of the chairs to reach the mouse hole. He pulled himself up so he was on the next floor in a minute. - Ready?
Xavier extended his hands to me. He pulled me up easily grabbing me by waist just before placing me on the ground:
- Thank you, - I said modesty not looking at Xavier. I wanted he didn't take his hands out. "What are you thinking about?" - I yelled at myself in my head for a thought which I reckoned would never appear in my mind.
