Chapter 13: First Day

One week later

Kourtney (Kourt)

Ma....mama. Kourt called throughout the house
I'm in the room girl stop all that yelling. Ms. Kim said as Kourt walked through the front door
My bad ma. Kourt said taking a seat on the bench in front of the queen sized bed. I thought you usually work on Mondays. Kourt asked with a confused look on her face.
I do but I just used my PTO to have a lil staycation until the 26th. Kim said focusing her eyes on the TV in front of her.
Damn that's two weeks off. Kourt replied
Child watch your mouth, I ain't one of yo lil friends. Kim replied throwing a pillow at Kourt hitting her arm. How was the first day of college classes? She excitedly asked
Cool we just went over the syllabus. Kourt dryly replied
It better be more than cool. It cost too much money to attend that school. Kim said
Mama my loans paid for everything what are you talking bout? Kourt asked with a slight attitude
I know that but you still have to pay them back. Kim said hitting the side of her head with her index finger. Kourt just ignored her as she scrolled through Instagram and came across a post from Nell.
