5. Cricket and Deshmukh family

Rishabh looked down, "sorry bhai, mujhe nahi pata tha baat wahan tak pahunch jayegi"

"Sorry ke bache ye pata school pahunchte hi tereko konsi khurafat machi thi prank karne ki? Mahi bhai ko batau unke laadle ki harkatein? " Virat whacked his head.

"Ouch, lag rahi hai" Rishabh whined. Virat whacked him again "Beta tu shukar mana tu principal office mein tha, uske saamne nahi maarna tha maine tujhe, warna tu jo maar khata na aaj"

"Sorry bola na maine, kyu maar rahe ho ab"

Virat whacked him again. "Abhi kya bol rha tha tu? Daanto mujhe? Maar khane ke liye taiyaar hoon? Nikal gayi hawa? "

Rishabh slipped a little away from Virat "Sorry yaar, nikal gya muh se, aage se kabhi nahi bolunga, maaf kardo bachche ko iss baar"

"Answer my question now. Inside story behind this stupid prank " Virat pressed.

"Woh, it was a dare" Rishabh sputtered.

"Dare? "

"Dare to prank call any family member" Rishabh managed "and tell them that you are in trouble"

"And you DARED to prank call me ?" Virat asked, raising his eyebrows, giving special emphasis on "dare".

Rishabh shrugged his shoulders in "as you can see"

"Tu beta bohot bigad gya hai. Zara bhi dar nahi lagta na tujhe mujhse?" Virat asked which Rishabh slowly shook his head in no.

"Aapne hi bola tha na khub masti karna, boht maze karna" Rishabh said, placing his head on Virat's thigh "toh ab daant kyun rahe ho? "

Virat resisted his urge to whack him again, the kid had zero self preservation. He was hell bent on digging his grave deeper than he already has. To deal with someone like Rishabh, one had to have the patience of a saint and he was far from being a saint.

"Masti karne ke liye bola tha, ye nahi bola tha ki class mein pahunchne se pahle principal office mein pahunch jaiyo, wo bhi mereko leke" Virat finally whacked him, his self-control was reaching its limits.

"Bhaiii" Rishabh cried out, getting up from his lap "Jao aapse nahi karni mujhe koi baat, kitna maaroge bachcha hu na mai aapka "

Virat made him lie down back, "Achha sorry, nahi maar raha main. Pata hai principal ne kya bola ispe? 'Wonder why the kid called you and not the elder Mr Deshmukh'" Virat said copying the principal's tone.

"He wanted to have Mahi bhai there " Rishabh laughed "Btw bhai if I called Mahi bhai instead of you, what would have been his reaction? "

"Try it for yourself next time " Virat stated.

"No, I'm good" Rishabh laughed.

Virat smiled. He had done way worse things when he was younger,worse than Rishabh could ever imagine, but Mahi bhai had dealt with him with utmost patience and calmness.

That's when he realised Rishabh's prank was actually quite harmless, except that his protective instinct got awakened and he got worried for him. Now virat was understanding what being an elder brother was. But, he was supposed to be the cooler one, he reminded himself, Mahi bhai was there to reprimand him when needed, he didn't need to be the bad guy.
