"Nope. Good job Sloan," Dr Bailey said.

Alex and I were walking around the hospital.

"You're hot," Alex said.

"And you're not my type Karev," I said.

"Why not?" Alex asked.

"You're an ass," I said.

"You don't know that," Alex said.

"Really? Your resident was reassigned within a week," I said.

"That's not anything to go off," Alex said.

"Look I'm sure that you're great but you're not my type so get over it," I said.

Alex, Cristina and I were laying on beds in the tunnel.

"My head hurts," Alex said.

"Maybe it's a tumour," Cristina said.

"Yeah, you wish I had a tumour," Alex said.

"Look, I'd rip your face off if it meant I got to scrub in," Cristina said. Izzie walked in.

"I have been suturing all day. My hands are numb," Izzie said.

"At least you're helping people," George called from the vending machine.

"At least you get to practice freaking medicine," Alex said.

"I had to send one Chinese lady away. She was like, camped out down there," Izzie said.

"Oh, poor Izzie, turning away patients, boo-hoo," Cristina mocked. Meredith walked in with George.

"So the police say that they can't send down the crack crime scene guy for hours. So I have to spend the night with a penis. Alex, don't say it," Meredith said sitting beside Alex on the bed.

"Ahh, it was too easy anyway," Alex said.

"Who here feels like they have no idea what they're doing?" George asked. Meredith, George, Izzie and Cristina raised their hands. "I mean, are we supposed to be learning something, because I don't feel like I'm learning anything,"

"Except how not to sleep," Izzie said.

"It's like there's this wall, and the attendings and the residents are over there, being surgeons, and we're over here, being..." Cristina trailed off.

"Suturing, code running, lab delivering penis-minders," Meredith said.

"I hate being an intern," Alex said. Dr Bailey walked in and looked at us all. We got up and left.

I was in the locker room changing back into my normal clothes. I pulled my leather jacket on over the top.

"Hey, I'm heading over to Joe's if you want to join me," Alex said.

"You won't be in my bed tonight Karev," I said.

"I know. Let me buy you a drink," Alex said.

"Great. Let's go, devil baby," I said.

"Sure thing Blondie," Karev said. We walked down to the elevator.

Alex and I walked into Joe's bar.

"Alex my man. Your usual?" The bartender asked.

"Yeah, thanks Joe and whatever Sage is having," Alex said.

"I'll have a lemonade please," I said.

"So what happens for a student who graduated top of their class at Hopkins to pick Seattle Grace over the no doubt hundreds of hospitals fighting for you?" Alex asked.

"Everyone in New York knows me by my brother's name or they know me because I was raised as Derek Shepherd's little sister. I wanted to become a surgeon because of them but I didn't want their name opening doors for me," I said.

"I'd let them open doors for me," Alex said.

"Yeah. I bet you would," I said as my phone rang.

Ad- Hey.

S- Hey Ads what's up?

Ad- Nothing. Can't I call my favourite blonde?

S- Sure you can.

Ad- Where are you? I can hear music and it sounds loud.

S- I'm at a bar with this asshole who keeps hitting on me.

I smirked at Alex who chuckled.

Ad- You'd better not take him home and make him pancakes.

S- Oh please he's not getting through my front door. And quit whining about pancakes. If you're that desperate get your ass over here.

Ad- Shh. You know you love me. I'll let you go. I just wanted to check you're okay.

S- I'm good Ads. I'll call you soon. Love you.

Ad- Love you too. Have fun with your date.

Call Ended

"Pancakes?" Alex asked.

"She's my best friend and I make her pancakes and waffles. She says I can't make them for anyone else so I tease her about it," I said.

"So I don't get pancakes?" Alex asked.

"She would cut my hand off if I made you pancakes," I said.

"Sounds like someone special," Alex said.

"She's my best friend," I said.

"Sounds like something more," Alex said.

"No. You don't get anymore information. You're still an asshole," I said. Alex laughed.

"Darts or pool?" Alex asked.

"Darts," I said standing up finishing my drink. "Next rounds on me same again?"

"Yeah," Alex said.
