Marco's POV:

I cheered as Tom won the arcade game he was playing, but turned my head as I heard an announcement over the intercom.

"Closing time in 5 minutes," I repeated back to Tom, sadly. He seemed disappointed but then laughed as he said I looked tired anyway.

"I am NOT tired!" I yelled, just before yawning. Tom burst out laughing. I sheepishly muttered, "Okay, maybe I'm just a little bit tired..."

"C'mon, let's go," he grabbed my hand and walked me out. It took me a moment to realize that we were holding hands. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! We're holding hands! AAH! I thought to myself as I tried not to panic, which I was failing miserably at.

"Are you okay?" I turned my head to see Tom looking at me with concern in his eyes. I glanced down at our hands, and he did too. Tom let go and I could feel how cold my hand was without him holding it. "Was it that? I'm really sorry, I should've asked, I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable-"

I grabbed his hand again, shushed him, and said, "I love it when you hold my hand." My wall of confidence quickly crumbled down and I covered my face with my other hand, turning a bright shade of pink. I glanced at Tom, and he looked flustered, too.

"Uhm, sorry... I didn't really mean to make you uncomfortable and if you don't want to hold my hand it's okay, I won't be mad at you and it's completely your choice-"

"Hey, it's all good. No need to apologize," Tom said, cutting off my rambling. We walked the rest of the way home, hands interlocked.

Tom's POV:

I kicked off my shoes quietly at Marco's front door. We tiptoed up to his room together, trying desperately to stifle our giggles.

Once we sat down on Marco's bed, I realized that I never actually got his pronouns or sexuality, I just kind of assumed. As I was about to ask, Marco said, "Hey, I never got your pronouns... homie pronoun check?"

I laughed before saying, "He/him, and by the way, I'm pan, if you were curious,"

He looked down and paused for a moment before saying, "Uh, yeah. Same. Well, except, I'm bi. I don't know if I have a preference or not but y'know,"

All I could think about while he was talking was how much I adored his lovable rambling. After this, we went on and on for hours just talking to each other.

"Has Star told you about my princess uprising? She's told you, like, everything about me so I figure that's a yes, but I'm just checking," Marco rambled once more.

I looked at him and said, "Yeah, she even told me what you look like. I bet you look so cute in a dress,"

"Awww, thanks, but I don't think I look that cute..." he replied, looking sheepish.

"Oh, come on! Now I have to see so I can prove you wrong!"

"It's really nothing special, just a dress, it doesn't matter that much," he rambled, once again. Before he could finish, I made him a dress. (with magic, obviously). I was absolutely starstruck at the sight in front of me.

"See, I told you it isn't all that much-"

"You look beautiful." I interrupted, immediately regretting what I just said as I looked at him staring silently. Is he mad at me?? Oh god, what have I done?
