My last class for the day was complete, and I went to the resource center to do a job search. I'd been avoiding seeing Mya, but she did have my new number. Sometimes, I still have nightmares about Don. Thankfully, it's not as disturbing as before.

"Hey Zee." Matt stood next to me with concern on his face.

"Hey, what's up?"

"Haven't seen you in a while. Is everything good?"

"Yeah, just busy."

I continued searching the school's website. Matt grabbed a chair then sat next to me.

"I heard you're not living at home anymore. Mya told me you stop staying with her too. Where are you staying?"

"With a friend."

"A friend?" He turned his mouth to the side.

"Yes, I have other friends than just you and Mya."

He looked surprised. "Oh, my bad. I'm just worried about you. I tried to call, but your number is no longer in service."

"Thank you for your concern. I'm fine."

"Good, but I'm here if you ever need me."

Matt looked into my eyes, I gave a soft smile. We hugged and I knew he meant everything he said.

"Inappropriate."

I pulled away from him and looked around. I could hear Julien's voice loud and clear.

"Are you okay?"

"Did you hear something?" My eyes continued to search.

Matt looked around too. "No, what's wrong?"

"You have ten seconds to leave his presence...."

"Julien? Where are you?"

He didn't respond, so I got up to leave. Matt followed behind me as I walked out of the building. My eyes looked around while I tried to stay calm.

"Zena, how long are you staying with this friend?"

"Until I get my own place."

The wind blew a little harder, I sped up my walking. I could smell Julien's cologne in the air and I stopped.

"Yo, are you good? You're acting weird."

"I'll talk to you later, Matt."

"Wait, listen...I meant what I said earlier." He grabbed my hands and rubbed his thumbs against them.

"Times up, ma Fleur."

I quickly snatched my hands away. "I know and I appreciate it. I have to go."

My car was a few feet away and I hurried towards it in the parking lot. The wind blew again, I looked around.

"I'll see you around, Zee!"

I heard Matt yell out and I turned to wave bye...out of nowhere, a blue camaro came speeding through the parking lot running into him. I screamed as the impact sent Matt's body into another car coming in the opposite direction. The front windshield shattered as the driver slammed on the brakes.

Screams were the soundtrack as people came running out of the building and other cars.

My body froze, my heart raced, my breathing was heavy...Matt is dead.

I shoveled the last pile of dirt onto the ditch. The ground wasn't as hard as I expected. I sat on the headstone across from the hill of dirt, I lit a slim and waited for the moon to peek from the dark clouds.

Zena was in my thoughts, I smiled thinking about how good she tasted and I wanted more. Her body is so soft and delicate, I can still feel her inner thighs rubbing against the sides of my head.

Soon, a hand stuck out of the dirt, I did my best to hide my annoyance.

"Son! Help me!"

"Mother, relax...this isn't your first resurrection."

I helped her out of the grave and she sat on the ground trying to catch her breath.

My mother, Andrea, is a human turned vampire. My father, Julius, was born a vampire and I am part vampire.

My brother, Adrien, who is part lycan, thinks I'm the devil...but he's just bitter. He doesn't have a relationship with his father.

"What took you so long to bury me?"

"I had to find your legs first...next time I'll just get you a wheelchair."

She grabbed the robe out of my hands to cover herself.

Sometimes I feel like she hates me because she got fucked and dumped by Julius. And because of this I'm supposed to hate him too...but I don't...we actually really get along.

"When's the last time you talked to your brother?"

"The other day and I'm exhausted. Here and make sure you stay away from bright lights."

She took my cigarette and followed me back into the estate. When we walked back inside, Adrien was waiting along with Justine.

"There she is...Mother, you look amazing. But you need to be more careful on your next vacation."

Justine stared at me and my brother noticed...he always noticed. I've never wanted or desired her but apparently her feelings aren't mutual. Adrien blames me for ending the relationship he claims they never had.

"I heard you declined a partnership of your uncle's company. That's surprising."

"I'm not surprised...He's a coward."

I sighed. "Jealousy looks very unattractive on you, brother."

Justine smiled.

"He's met someone...a human girl. She's been staying here with him." My mother took a drag of the cigarette.

"What?" Adrien and Justine said in unison.

"She's very beautiful too. I'm surprised he hasn't devoured her yet."

I've never in my life lived with a woman other than my mother.

With many of the women I've been with, sex came easy. No romance, commitments, or feelings. It was the best way for me to live as a single man.

"But I thought you didn't have any desire to have a companion," Justine said.

"No desire to have you as a companion. You never did pay attention..."

I walked away missing Zena's scent. She still hasn't come home. My first reaction, I called her and received no answer.

I knew her little friend Matt was out of the way, so where could she be?

I went into our bedroom and grabbed an article of her clothing. Once I inhaled the scent, my eyes closed while my mind tracked her whereabouts.

"Zena, where are you hiding?"

Mist of clouds and the light of the moon went past my vision. City lights, cars and trees were next. Soon, I could see an apartment building then my focus went to one window.

"I miss you."

I could hear the sound of her heartbeat, its pace was rising at the sound of my voice. Zena was now in my sight as she sat on a couch with a few people around her. Two of them were males....I don't like that.

"I'm coming to get you, darling."
