24 - I miss my family

"So then, tell me." Elena demanded. Cassidy, now really angry, went to wring the doppelgänger's neck, but Rebekah stopped her. The original softly shook her head, before turning to Elena in defeat.

"Why do you want to know?"

"Why don't you want me to wake him?"

"We have places to be." Rebekah grabbed Cassidy's hand again, and as the two mates started walking away from the nosy doppelgänger, Cassidy couldn't help but call one last thing to her over her shoulder.

"Stop searching for answers about a powerful family that can crush you with two fingers, Elena. You're the only one who I see dying a painful death at the end of the road." And Cassidy and Rebekah walked off, hand in hand, away from Elena.

"How did she know about Mikael?!"

"Elena has always been a sneaky little thing. She has her ways." Cassidy responded. She and Rebekah stood in an empty classroom for the remainder of lunch period, discussing the events that had just taken place. Rebekah looked very scared, and it was starting to worry Cassidy. The siphoner stepped forward and slowly took Rebekah's hands. "Hey... I know that you're scared, and I'm scared for you, but I can't help you decide what to do next if you won't tell me who Mikael is."

"He's a frightening man. He will come for me, Nik, and Elijah... and he will come for you for being the unfortunate soul that is stuck with us." Rebekah whispered. She wasn't scared for herself, she was terrified for Cassidy's life... and what Mikael would do to her. "I will explain everything to you, but it will have to wait until tonight. There is no point telling the tale twice."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm going to invite Elena round to the Salvatore house later. Stefan and Damon won't be home, and your sister will be at yours, so we'll just break in. I want to tell Elena the story of Mikael, and you can hear about it then, too." Rebekah stated, typing away on her phone before showing Cassidy the message that she was about to send to Elena.

"Tough choice." Cassidy thought hard, glancing at all of the compelled girls modelling Rebekah's potential homecoming dresses in the Salvatore home. The siphoner let out a sigh. "I can't choose! You would look gorgeous in all of them."

"Thank you, gorgeous." Rebekah pressed a kiss to Cassidy's lips when they heard the front door open. Rolling her eyes, Rebekah huffed. "I suppose Little Miss Nosy can help us decide." Moments later, Elena found the mates, walking up to them. Rebekah put on a fake smile towards Elena. "Hey, what's up?"

"You invited me over? To talk?"

"All right, girls, do it again!" Rebekah demanded. The six compelled girls in various jewel-toned colored homecoming dresses turned away from Cassidy to model to Elena instead. "Okay, now twirl please." The compelled girls twirled and showed off the dresses. Elena looked shocked and disgusted.

"You compelled your own private runway show?"

"It's not like they are being harmed. Chill." Cassidy rolled her eyes. "Bekah just needs a Homecoming dress. See, I am wearing a blue one so we didn't want to clash."

"Exactly. So, what do you think? Pick one." Rebekah instructed Elena, who let out a disgusted scoff and shook her head with a frown.

"I'm not here to help you shop. I'm here to talk about why you don't want me to wake up Mikael."

"Gosh, could you be more obsessive with their family?" Cassidy groaned. "If you don't pick a dress, I can't promise that Bekah won't harm one of the girls."
