Clint was on his way to see his best friend again, while Bruce, Steve, Bucky and Sam took her to Tony's house first, while headquarters was destroyed. When four of them rang Stark's front doorbell with Natasha in Roger's arms, Tony was nearly blindsided. He just couldn't believe that his favorite impostor was still alive.

Now she was lying in one of the guest rooms, which had been converted into a makeshift infirmary. Bruce had just left the room to get something to eat, according to him there was nothing he could do anyway. Now it was up to Tasha when and if she would wake up. Steve had not left her side for a minute since her arrival and was now sitting next to her bed on an uncomfortable wooden chair. But even this would not induce him to get up. "Nat, please wake up. We need you with us. I need you. I don't know what to do without you. We promised that we would start a new life. Together or not at all."

His fingers were curled around hers, not even thinking about it, when the door opened and Bucky joined them in the room. "Should have guessed you'd be in here." Steve looked up from their entwined fingers into his friend's worried eyes. He didn't answer but turned his gaze back to the sleeping redhead. "I kissed her," Steve mumbled, his cheeks turning slightly pink at the thought of his lips on hers. It had been indescribably beautiful, even if he didn't know where he had suddenly found the courage to do it. In any case, he did not regret it. Bucky also seemed surprised by his friend's sudden offensiveness - even if it was positive. "Took you way too long, though," Buck admitted with relief, proudly slapping his buddy on the shoulder. "But what if she doesn't wake up? That I don't know what I'd do without her," he admitted his fears, leaning back in his chair without releasing his hand from hers. "She will. She will."

At the same moment, the door was yanked open and Clint burst in. When he had received the call, he had thought of everything but that Steve would tell the truth. If Tony had been the messenger, he probably would have thought of it as a bad joke - even if that was a touch too macabre even for the millionaire. But not with Steve. He knew him well enough to know he would never joke about it. "Nat," it left his throat hot as if it had been tightened, and he only found himself stumbling to the other side of the bed. He couldn't believe his eyes. Was he actually going to get her back?

Behind them the door opened again and Pietro and Wanda joined them. Even for the magically gifted twins, this bordered on a miracle. But for Pietro, this did not only trigger positive feelings. He liked Natasha very much, but he couldn't help thinking about Abigail, who had even accepted death in order to be reunited with her mother.
