Therefore, the peanut butter sandwich was an almost daily dish for the two redheads. Nevertheless, Natasha had tried to teach the younger one how to cook, but soon the older one lacked the time and patience for that, too. So when she couldn't prepare something hot herself, they had sandwiches. Abigail didn't blame her for that, after all Nat didn't let her go hungry and by now she was old enough to take care of herself. Every now and then Abigail even managed to conjure up a half-decent dish and served it to Steve and Tasha. "Is there anything new at headquarters? What are the others doing?" inquired Pepper after some time of silence, looking at her guests.

"How are things with Pietro?" she added, grinning at Abigail and twitching her eyebrow. The young mother, of course, was not oblivious to the sudden familiarity that had appeared between the two. Visibly nervous, Abi began to play with her bracelet, from which dangled an arrow similar to the one on Natasha's necklace. "Complicated story," she began, eyeing her half-eaten plate. "Pietro and I noticed that we actually always saw a different person in each other. To me he was Danny and to him I was Wanda. We came to the conclusion that we work better as siblings. But we were never together, it never got that far."

More silence followed and no one really knew anything to say. Except Tony, of course, who responded cheekily as usual. "Too bad Kid would have liked to see you happy in love again but I see two others at the table are a couple for that." The eyes fell on Natasha and Steve who just gave each other a confused look. "Or still not? Because you guys act like you've been married to each other forever." Abigail barely managed to suppress a laugh and Scott seemed confused. "Wait, what? I thought you guys had been together since Germany. Wow thanks guys that shatters my whole world view." Tony also started to giggle and took a sip from his glass before it became quiet again.

"It was really nice to see you guys," Pepper said goodbye to her guests and gave them all a long hug after they finished eating. With Abigail she paused for a few seconds and stroked her hair. The little one had become like a niece to her and the thought of them messing with time without Tony's help was so not appealing to her. "Take care of yourself." Nodding, she assured Pepper of her caution and quickly got a kiss on the hairline. "You take care of our giant baby." Potts laughed and switched places with the so-called giant baby. "What did you just call me sweetie?" asked Tony, raising his eyebrows as he tried to look extra snooty. "So is that your new nickname for me now?" countered Abigail, crossing her arms in front of her chest in turn. "When Giant Baby is yours, it's something to think about little one." They both ended their playful discussion, preferring to trade it for one last hug.
