Rose managed to escape the curse through the same wardrobe as Emma; and she was set on staying with the baby but the foster system separated them a few weeks later. They reunited when Emma was seventeen.
In the year 2011, the two women are settled and are happy with their lives; but when Emma's son, Henry, turns up on their doorstep and takes them back to Storybrooke, everything changes.
