"HOW DO I LOOK?" I ASKED KAMAU as I ran my sweaty palms over my sweatpants.

"You look good baby, stop stressing." He reassured me.

I had changed five times already but it was that serious when it came to first impressions, especially on his mother.

"I'm just really nervous." I sighed, running my hands through my bob.

"We been doing this shit for two months. You tapping out on me now?"

"No I'm not tapping out, it's just I-"

"Your nervous, I understand, but I'm right here and I always got your back." Kamau softly said.

I sighed, feeling some nervousness finally release from my stomach.

"I think I wanna wear some jeans though babe." I pursed my lips as I looked over my appearance in his full body mirror.

"How much clothes did you pack?"

"Enough."

He shook his head as he stirred me away from his mirror, "You not changing again."

"Kamau don't nobody wear heels to a damn cookout, let me change." I fussed.

He let me go with a grunt before plopping on the bed. I was a lot to handle and surprisingly he was being very patient with me but I knew there was a matter of time before he had enough then the trials and tribulations came, but I was prepared.

"Okay, this is it." I confirmed as I got placed all my essentials in my bag.

"You don't got no draws on, do you?" Kamau speculated

"You don't got no draws on, do you?" Kamau speculated.

"If somebody looks up under my dress they would find out." I shrugged.

Kamau, being Kamau, bent down to look up under my dress. I chuckled at his facial expression.

"Yea, you staying by me at all times."

I giggled as I sprayed perfume onto my body.

"That's a new smell?" Kamau asked, sniffing my neck.

"This the one you got me." I held it up for him to see.

"Mmh, Daddy always make the best choices." He smirked as he flexed his arms.

"Boy shut up," I blushed. "Let's go."

Kamau's mom just so happened to stay two blocks away from my MeeMaw which was an advantage because they were great friends. MeeMaw also helped cook the food so I knew the cooking was top tier.

"So how did y'all meet?" Kamau's sister, Kamiyah asked me. She was older than Kamau by an year and three months but he still treated her like the "baby sis".
