To my dismay she does not in fact leave.

"Do you guys know what houses you'll be in? I'm personally hoping for Griffindor but I'll take Ravenclaw too." Hermione blabbers on.

"My Father said he will not let me come home if I'm not Slytherin, so I would like to be in that house." I state.

.....Maybe that was too dark. The entire train car is awkwardly silent. Harry eyes me sympathetically, it makes my stomach twist uncomfortably.

"ANYWAYS, Ron's family is all Griffindors so he will most likely be one too." I add trying to break the thick tension in the room.

Ron breaks into an embarrassed smile and rubs his neck replying, "Oh yeah, I don't mind being in Griffindor anyways."

The train whistle cuts through our discussion, signaling that we are close to Hogwarts. We have to still get into our robes, so it's only a matter of getting Hermione out of our train cart.

"We have to change and I do not think you want to see that, so you best be on your way, Hermione." I warn her, smiling teasingly.

She turns red and stutters, rushing out the door. We all turn away from each other and change into our robes. The train coming to a stop shortly after. Then we stuff the rest of the candy into our robes' pockets and hurry out of the train.

Some kid was calling out to something or someone named "Trevor", which means he's probably Neville with the missing toad Hermione mentioned earlier. Poor kid still has not found it I guess.

"Firs' years! Firs' years over 'ere!" Man who looks to be half Giant calls out, his name is Hagrid if I'm remembering right.

Harry, Ron, and I all weave our way through the crowd over to him.

While glancing at Harry, Hagrid asks him, "Ye doin' all right there Harry?"

Harry replies with a nod and an embarrassed blush on his face.

When everyone gathers around Hagrid he calls out, "C'mon follow me. Anymore firs' years?! Right this way. Watch yer step now."

He leads all of us first years through a thicket of trees and all kinds of wildlife, then to the shore of the body of water surrounding Hogwarts. Hagrid says something about being able to see Hogwarts now and I look up, taken aback from how much more magical the Castle looks in person. The view of the school from the shoreside is unlike anything I have ever seen, the water sparkles against the light the school is emitting in a way that looks ethereal, and the Castle resembles something ripped out of a fairy tale. The pictures of Hogwarts do not do it justice one bit.

"All right, everyone get in a boat! And only three to a boat!" Hagrid instructs.

Harry, Ron, and I clamber into a boat with Ron and I paddling it. Admiring the view while we paddle makes the moment feel all the more unreal but every good moment has to end and soon we reach land. We all get back onto shore and follow Hagrid to the Front Entrance where Professor McGonagall is waiting for us.

She skims her eyes across our group the starts her little speech, "Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you house points. Any rule breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points will be awarded the house cup."
