Rosalin and I sit under the Great Willow as Serina and Sebastian approach. I brought my twin with me today because I needed to be able to know what they were saying without being close enough to hear, so as to stay undetected...

Serina looks as beautiful as ever with her hair pulled back, save a curl on both sides of her face. She's in a purple bikini that brings out her big, gorgeous eyes, covered by a yellow fishnet dress that flows over her, and yet, is fitted at the hips before flowing down below coming to a stop on one side and continuing into an asymmetric finish on the other side. Her skin nearly glowing in the sunlight. Sebastian, on the other hand, sports a pair of worn black swim trunks with his long red locks fitted into a loose braid. They walk side by side, but all I can see is Serina.

"Dude, stop gushing all over Ser, you do realize I can hear your thoughts, right?" Rose asks slightly annoyed.

I start to blush as I turn to my sister. "Um... sorry. But you really don't have to be inside of my head 24/7, you're supposed to be listening out for Ser and Sebastian, Rose."

"I'd turn it off if I could, but when you're so loudly screaming 'I'm in love with my best friend'," she mocks me by deepening her voice, "it's kinda hard to ignore."

I turn my attention back to Serina... they seem to be talking about something while standing in the water. I start to feel guilty for spying on her, but after what happened with Sebastian, I can't trust that he won't tell her the truth...

The truth is, I know Serina is safe when Sebastian's around, but I get the feeling that he's wanting the tell her everything that she's not ready to know. The less she knows about her true self, the better because she's safer that way. But I worry that Sebastian has other ideas...

Just as I'm about to turn to ask Rose what they're talking about, she says "NOW!"

Understanding, I start running down the hill toward the two. I have to make it there before he spills the beans, or I might lose Serina forever...

I call out her name, and she turns around to see who it is. Sebastian looks a little pissed that I interrupted, knowing that I was probably spying on them with Rosalin this whole time. But I don't care, I have to keep her identity a secret to her, for her safety.

Catching my breath, I say, "funny seeing you here. I saw you guys and thought I'd come over to say hi."

Serina smiles and comes to give me a hug, "Liam! So good to see you. Sorry I've skipped the hospital the last couple of weeks."

Sebastian and I both glare at each other knowing that the other has a different agenda than himself. Serina notices and awkwardly says, "Ima let you guys work out whatever is going on here, I'll see you at home Sebby."

And with that, she grabs her bag and towel and begins walking off the beach.

Sebastian and I don't even watch her go we just continue to glare at each other in silence. I'm so heated that my glasses fog up, but I don't care. He knows for her safety we can't tell her the truth, or we risk making it easier for Shadow to get to her. But he doesn't seem to care, he's so determined to let his own niece sacrifice herself for the greater good, when it doesn't have to be that way...

Finally, he breaks the silence, "look, I know you think you're protecting her by keeping the truth from her, but she's gotta find out eventually."

I lighten up, "and I know you think by telling her, things will get better... but Val has spent 19 years protecting her, the least we can do is let her decide when the time is right..."

He sighs, "maybe you're right... I don't agree with it, but Val should be the one to decide... it is her sworn duty to keep the princess safe..."

I'm glad that's over... I smile at him, and we go our separate ways...
