“Hey, don’t call me heavy!” I exclaim, but I stumble back to my feet and make myself comfortable

over the length of the coach. Huge mistake. Both of the boys are now tickling me until I scream at

them to stop. But they won’t object. Only when I start to beg them to stop they back away, leaving me

gasping for air on the floor. When Melanie  comes to sit behind me and hands me my cup of milk, I

greedily gulp it down. It takes a several minutes for us to slow down our breathing and finally we’re

all settled on the couch.

“Okay guys, I think it’s a good thing that it’s me who’s pregnant and not Marivi.” Mel states smirking.

I give her a ‘told you so’ look and turn back to the guys on the couch opposite from where I’m

seated.

“So, after we all know we’re still pretty immature, can we have a conversation like responsible,

mature people?” I ask them. When they nod their heads I continue “So then, Jim you’re not angry

anymore?”

“Well, when I think about it, it’s actually pretty awesome. We’re both becoming uncle and aunt to the

same baby. That will keep us together for so much longer and I’ll finally have a reason to be at  your

family parties.” He grins. Yeah, he has a point, although I often took him with before I became such

good friend with my brother.

“Oh, speaking of, there’s one on Sunday, do you guys wanna come with us?” I direct at Mel and Jim.

“Thank you honey, I’d love to come, I haven’t seen Colin and Beth in ages. And your granny, how is

she anyway?” He was on real good terms with the older family members of mine.

“It’s granny's birthday we’re celebrating. She sure would love to see you.”

“That’s wonderful. How old is she now? Sixty?” yeah right, and pig can fly. But it makes my smile.

“Jim, it’s for her eighty-fifth. Though I’m sure she’d prefer your suggestion.” Turning to Mel I notice

she didn’t say anything but is having some sort of silent conversation with my brother.

“Mel, I’m sure they’d love to meet you to. Jim has told them so much about you already and as

Jaden’s girlfriend you’re invited anyway. Come meet your baby’s great-grandparents. Not that they’d

know this.” I add in the end, not wanting to stress her.

Just then we hear the front door closing.

“Mom? Dad? Welcome home.” I stand up to hug my mother. But when I enter the hallway, I wish I

hadn’t. I mean, I know that my parents are still madly in love, but I don’t have to see them half

naked.

“Uhm, hi mom, dad. Never mind me interrupting you, just go to your room.” And with that I turn

around, in a hurry to go back to the others. I have only just made myself comfy again when the stick

their heads in.

“Sorry kids, we didn’t know you’re already home.” Like they haven’t seen the light. “Did you have a
