Alex's POV:

When Justin finally reached the counter he looked around the shop, smiling to himself when his eyes finally found mine. "Still looks the same, from the first time I saw it." He said, looking at me, only to then turn towards the boys. "Can we have a moment guys?" He asked, almost sounding truly genuine.

Luke looked at me, as Josh gabbed the side of his loose shirt. Pulling the both of them away from the counter. When Luke stopped moving about 4 feet away from the shop. Looking as if he was holding his breath.

I sent him a look of ease, when I then felt Justin's gaze start to burn the side of my face.

"Can I help you with something?" I asked, holding all the confidence in my voice, as I turned and looked at him directly in the eyes, for the first time in months.

He looked... older, and more weathered than before. His skin slightly damaged from the weather. While the usual playful look in his eyes, are now hiding.

They were the same ones, that once taught me how to smile a certain way, or challenge someone with just one look...

He appeared more... mature, and less like the Justin I shared so many heated arguments, and passionate nights with.

"Well..." he said, looking at the small piece of card stock in his hands. "I've been meaning to invite you to something for um..." he said, running a hand through his thick hair. "...A bit." He said, sliding the piece of paper across the damp counter.

I looked down the card, and squinted as I read the thin writing on the card. Slowly feeling myself grimace as my vision picked up every single word...

It was an invitation, to his wedding. With a picture of him and his fiancé at the bottom of the card.

I swallowed the judgmental lump in my throat and looked up at him, picking up the card in one hand.

"Your wedding is soon." I said, looking at the date, noticing how it was only two weeks away. "You must have wanted to invite me so badly, that you waited to the last minute." I side eyed him, as I set the invitation down.

"Don't look at me like that X." He whined, leaning against the counter as he tried to get closer. "Me and Ashly didn't even know how soon our wedding would be." He said, looking at me with a genuine sincerity in his eyes. "It was our parents idea..."

"So her name is Ashly?" I asked, turning around to grab a bottle Tylenol and a water bottle. Knowing from experience, that the tired look on his face is from a migraine.

When I turned and grasped the medicine, I felt a weird sensation of peace flood over me and settle in my stomach. Only to then get pulled out of my thoughts by Justin.
