Saffron's POV

We're nearing the end of our trip now, and me and the boys are just tidying up any details in songs, and tidying up the house in general. My phone vibrates and I look down to see an alert pop up,

2 months 'till Uni!

Oh my goodness! I'd completely forgotten! I'm meant to start my course at Cambridge in two months today! How could I let it slip my mind? But I'm meant to be working with McFly and Universal for pretty much the next six months, how's this going to work?

"Why do you suddenly look so worried?" Dougie asks, coming up behind me,

"Dude, I'm meant to be starting university in two months!" I exclaim, showing him my phone and he goes pale,

"But we're meant to be recording an album and touring!"

"I know, but this is Cambridge, Dougie. I can't just drop out. Hell, I wouldn't drop out of any uni!" I'm almost shouting now, I'm so worked up about this.

"Hey, hey, what's happening?" Harry asks, concerned,

"I'm meant to be moving to Cambridge in two months." I tell him matter-of-factly,

"You're WHAT!?" Harry shouts,

"This was my gap year, remember? I took it off to focus on YouTube, and I somehow managed to end up meeting and writing with you guys."

"So you can't come on tour with us?" Dougie asks miserably,

"I don't know.... I guess not, uhh...."

"Saffron, you can't seriously be thinking about giving up Cambridge University for us?" Harry looks at me with his eyebrows raised,

"But this could be it! This could be my big break! I might not have to go to university if I can get a record deal by the end of the year!"

"Saffron, even if you get a record deal, they don't always last. The label can drop you before your album comes out, your album might do terribly, there are a million different things that could go awfully wrong."

"But there are a million other things that could go incredibly right!" I answer, "I could end up going platinum and selling out a world tour! There's always the possibility that you could fall, but isn't the idea of flying after taking that leap so worth the risk?" I ask Harry desperately. He looks at me sheepishly,

"I guess you're right, but you need to talk this through with your parents. Or try to get Cambridge to hold your place for one more year."

"And if all else fails, you can try and apply again." Dougie says, jumping back into the conversation, "But I think it's all going to go just swimmingly."

"What was all the noise about a minute ago?" Tom asks, strolling into the room,

"We were just having a bit of an argument about university." I tell him casually,

"S**t! You're going to university in September aren't you?" he responds, panicked,

"Well... I haven't really decided. I want to tour with you guys, but I can't go on a one and a half month tour in the middle of a term. So... I think I'm going to ask if they can hold my place for another year."

Tom looks at me, astonished, "Wha-"

"Don't start, I've just had this fight with Harry. I took this year out to focus on YouTube and music, and I think it's been pretty successful, don't you? I'm sure Cambridge won't mind holding my place, especially because my acceptance letter said I was 'one of the brightest young minds we've come across in a long time'. Dougie looks at me, grinning like a proud parent,
