The red moon was hidden amidst the dark clouds, but it's bloody, haunting shine still reflected on the grounds. The rain washed always the flames of fire. The thunder had stopped roaring too.

The grounds were filled with lifeless bodies of loyal soldiers of the empire and the common people hid back in whatever was left of their homes, praying to find the family members who were lost in the chaos.

Hurried footsteps were heard outside as the pureblood reached the open grounds. His brothers followed like always. All were drenced in the rain but that was the least of their worries.

Hyunjin haulted on his steps as he saw him.

His dearest soldier Hyungnim. The one he trusted with all his heart, holding a blood covered sword over the body of his appa as the Kang King was trying to hold him back.

He heard his brothers cry out loud and push of the soldier and kneel near their appa. They cried and cried desperate to wake him up somehow.

Hyunjin walked towards them with slow, unsteady steps, as he saw Chan and his brothers except Seungmin merely standing on one side with swords in their hands.

Silent streams of tears ran down his black orbed eyes as he knelt down in front of his father.

His brothers looked at him, some sort of desperate hope still clinging onto their eyes as they saw Hyunjin. Perhaps they thought that their Hyung would solve everything like always.

But Hyunjin couldn't meet their eyes.

He just whispered staring as lifelessly as the dead bodies in the surroundings, at his father's blood and dirt covered face and his closed eyes.

"Appa."

He looked down and saw blood gushing out of his appa's abdomen. He quickly tore a piece of fabric from his shirt beneath his uniform and hastily, tied it around the wound to stop the blood.

He gulped harshly and looked around. His eyes met Chan's as he silently seeked for help. But something was wrong with the latter's gaze. It lacked the usual softness in it.

"Your eomma." Hyunjin heard the voice of the Kang King.

He turned to look at the king standing behind him now.

"What happened to her? Where is she?" Jisung asked frantically.

"She is gone. The enemies drowned her in the sea. In this rain, I don't think her body can be found." He said as Jeongin hysterically screamed her name.

Hyunjin remained still in his position.

"No! Please!" The middle Baek brothers tried to hug Jeongin when he screamed uncontrollably. But the poor child was thrashing around, in a certain urgency to find his mother's warmth again.

"Your appa can still be saved. I tried to stop the dirty traitor but I am sorry I couldn't save your father from getting injured heavily. He is my dearest friend. Do not worry. I will do all I can to save him." The Kang King said again.

He called two of his guards who took the Baek King to the infirmary. Jeongin, Felix and Jisung tried to go along with them but,

"All of you need to stay here." Llongwook said.

"All we need now is to be with appa." Jisung yelled and tried to push Llongwook aside to go to his appa.

The rest were protesting too as Hyunjin stood up quietly and walked towards his Hyungnim who was standing with his head hung low.
