THIRTY TWO

It was 5PM and their training finally ended. They all jogged up to retrieve their bags, constantly thanking me for protecting their backpacks while all I did was stare at them for an indefinite time.

"Magsi-ligo kayo! Nangangamoy kayo! Shame on Michaella here staying with all of you!" Coach shouted. "Oh come on coach, eh hindi nga siya naaamoyan kay Captain noong nagpunas siya ng pawis niya. Look at her she's not even flinching." Pangangatuwiran ni Kyle habang tinuturo kaming dalawa.

"He smells okay naman. Aren't you?" I asked Felix, smiling at him while pinching his cheeks. He nodded at me and raised his eyebrow towards Ryle na nakasimangot. "Unlike yours, Ryle." I added making everyone laugh out loud.

"Oh burn!"

"Emotional Damage!"

"Gisado!"

Everyone called out at Ryle who was smirking at us. "Joking aside Ryle. Sige na maligo na kayo, nakakahiya naman na mas mabango pa si coach kesa sa inyo." Sabi ko sa kanila na ikinasimangot ng lahat.

"Truly what Michaella said is right. Lahat kayo nangangamoy araw na. Balik kayo dito for announcement pagkatapos niyong maligo. I'll give you 15 minutes para makapagligo. Times starts now!" Coach shouted making everyone ran away.

"May pupuntahan lang muna ako, Langga. Are you sure you're okay here alone? Madilim na." He asked quite concerned because I'm being left out here. But no worries, I'm fine since may lights naman everywhere making the field shine bright.

"I'm okay here Coach. You should go. Thank you for your hard work." I said and bowed at him. "May I ask why you're bowing? Are you perhaps Japanese?" He asked while rubbing his chin, showing how much it greatly concerned his brain.

"No. Nakasanayan lang talaga coach." I said and then chuckled after uttering. He just nodded, waved his hand and left me here alone. Mabuti naman at ako lang isa dahil I opened my phone, checked my gallery and tapped the first photo. And you know who's there, it's Felix doing major push ups.

Believe me, it's too hot and I wouldn't expose this picture to anyone. Well, it was already exposed to Coach pero he's not the type naman na ibubunyag ang lahat. I think. I'm not sure pero let's trust Coach na lang, let's not show hostility to him.

I, being stupid, made the photo as my wallpaper. It was the craziest thing I ever did pero alam ko namang walang magbubukas nito. Unlike any typical girls, I'm not into social media but I have accounts. The fact that I only used YouTube and messenger is the only social media platform I used. Other than those two, wala na talaga akong ginagamit.

I have my Facebook account but I wouldn't use them. Sa messenger lang specially that mom's been calling me frequently asking such things as kami na ba, may update ba ganun. A typical nosy mama.

Hindi naman naging matagal at karamihan sa team ay naglalakad na palapit sa akin, the air was filled with manly scent pero nangunguna talaga ang kabanguhan ng cedarwood perfume.

It's been lingering and I knew the person who uses cedarwood. He walked in front of me and kissed my forehead sabay upo sa aking gilid. Good thing I already hid my phone and turned it off bago pa siya makapunta dito. That would be a lot of pain in the ass once he discovered na ginawa kong wallpaper ang picture na sikretong kinuha ko kanina.

Hindi din nagtagal at lahat sila ay kompleto na including coach Henry. He was also fresh at the moment, kabago pang ligo. It was already 5:25PM and everyone was serious pagkalapit ng pagkalapit ni Coach.

"Announcement. You all knew about the tournament right? The schedule is after the exam. That means kinabukasan pagkatapos ng exam ay pupunta tayo sa Don Gregorio Pelaéz Sports Complex. It's neither our field but we'll do our best to win when it comes to winning another set of trophies. The examination might even consider your positions and may add points for your service kaya pagbutihin talaga natin na manalo. I'll be checking your grades as of now at yung mga may bagsak, hindi makakasali sa Liga. So everyone, do well, especially because this is our chance for everyone to know how fierce this team is." The coach said and while his statement ended, everyone shouted while raising their hands above.
