It Started on Lazy Day

Part 15

"Thanks..." I leaned back as everyone had practically gathered around me more than they normally did.

"Sonic, are you hungry? You've only had hospital food," Knuckles handed me his phone, "Order anything you want."

"Eh? But I can just cook-"

"You're going to rest," they all reminded me. I was lucky they allowed me to walk to the bathroom on my own. Knuckles and Tails were basically glued to me. Amy and Silver were handling my chores. Blaze was reading over my new suppressants to be sure the side effects wouldn't be so severe.

  This was what I wanted to avoid...

"Sonic, open," Blaze was holding up one of the new suppressants, "It's time for your medicine."

"Right... I need a snack if I'm going to take it-"

"This one doesn't require food. Take it once a day at night before bed. Here," she handed me the pill and a glass of water.

"I'll need to get used to taking these," I looked at the small pill, this won't hide my scent at all. I took the pill and felt a weight on my lap. Tails was laying his head on me, "Tails? What is it?"

"Nothing," he was watching cartoons as he laid on me.

Buzz! I checked my phone... Shadow had texted me. He had been texting me since last night!? Why has he sent so many messages? What is going on?

--Yesterday--

Hey, I want miso soup in the lunchbox for tomorrow. Meet me in the bathroom, like always.

-- 8:00 am --

You're late, there better be a good reason why.

-- 8:30 am --

  You should have told me you'd be absent.

-- 12:00 pm --

  Why aren't you answering?

Tell me what's going errand boy.

-- Now --

  Are you dead or something? When you get back I want miso soup. No excuses or everyone finds out.

  I groaned. This guy wouldn't give me a break.

"Sonic? What's wrong, you look pale," Knuckles placed a hand on my forehead.

"I'm fine, stop freaking out," I opened my phone again as I got another message.

-- Just Now --

  Will you be here tomorrow?

I'm not coming to school tomorrow.
Buy your own miso soup. I'm not making you anything.

Then everyone will know you're secret.

I don't care. Tell them. They'll find out anyway. Goodbye, Shadow.

  I felt an odd sense of relief. At least if everyone knows, I'll finally be free from him. Weird... I suddenly feel... tired... ... ...

PoV: Tails

  Sonic had stopped playing with my fur and I felt him shift.

"Sonic?" I looked back and he had fallen asleep on Knuckle's shoulder, "Knuckles, he fell asleep."

"He's exhausted. Let's take him to bed-" Knuckles picked up his phone, "What the hell?"

"What is it?" I sat up so Knuckles could carry Sonic, but he was doing something on Sonic's phone.

"Don't worry about it," he put the phone down and carried Sonic to his bed, "It was just a weird ad on his game."

"Sure..." I watched as Knuckles took out his own phone.

"Everyone is being weird," I stayed in the room with Sonic. I plugged his phone in and laid down with him, "Don't worry Sonic. We'll all help you get better."

  He can't pretend to be a Beta anymore. I'll need a new notebook, this one is almost full.

  I wonder how he'll change.
