The next couple weeks flew by. Nova and Luna were settling into their school routines nicely and Colby and I were getting used to it, too.
I was still a little heartbreaking knowing that they were getting so old, but I actually looked forward to hearing about their day when they got home.
Sam and Colby were planning their next trip which made me a little sad.
We haven't found out the status of my pregnancy yet but we weren't planning on me going on this trip.
It would just be too hard to get the girls used to a new routine with someone different and vice versa.
We were planning on having me go with Sam and Colby on a local adventure so I could get my fix of adventure.
"Hey, babe?" Colby asked as he came into the bedroom. "What's up?" I asked and looked up at him.
"I'm gonna pick Sam up on the way home from picking the girls up, is that okay?" He asked as I laughed.
"Yes, you can have your girlfriend over. Just leave the door open if you're in your room." I teased and folded the shirt in my hand. "You're an ass." He said with a laugh.
"Yeah, when's your trip?" I asked and looked up at him. "Tuesday." He said as I pursed my lips. "I guess we should take a test then." I said as he frowned. "You think it's time?" Colby asked as I nodded.
"Yeah, my period is supposed to start in a couple days." I said as he nodded. "Did you want to wait until I come back...I don't want you to get a false negative or something.." He said as I shook my head.
"I'm a pro at getting a negative test at this point." I said with a sigh then finished folding the shirt in my hand.
"Wait here." I said with a smile then went into the bathroom so I could grab one of the pregnancy tests I bought.
"Please be positive." I whispered then went to pee on the test. Once I was done I capped it up. I sighed then set a timer as I walked into the bedroom where Colby was.
"Here we go." I said then sat on the bed. "Are you nervous?" He asked as I nodded. "Extremely." I said as he took my face in his hand.
"Remember if it's negative, it might be a false negative." He said as I nodded.
"Yeah, I'm just trying to stay positive...heh...literally." I said as he grinned then kissed my forehead.
We sat there for a minute before the timer on my phone went off. "Ready?" Colby asked as I shook my head.
"I just want it to be positive so bad." I whispered and looked into his eyes. "I know, baby. I do, too. No matter what happens though we'll get through it." He said as I nodded.
"Alright...here we go." I whispered then looked down at my shaking hands. I breathed out a sigh then flipped the digital test over.
Pregnant
"Oh my god..." I whispered and looked up at Colby. "Oh my god!!" I squealed as he smiled widely. "Oh my god!" I screamed and wrapped my arms around him, pulling him close.
I found myself sobbing into his shoulder from the amount of happiness that was boiling inside of me.
"We're pregnant, baby. We're pregnant." Colby said and scratched my back, holding me close. "I can't believe it." I whispered and choked out a sob. He held me tightly for a little while before I pulled away.
Colby grabbed my face then kissed me once we pulled away. I kissed him back, melting into him as pure joy filled my chest.
Once we pulled away from each other I looked down at the test. "I wanna take another one." I said as he grinned.
